Oh man this is awesome!
8Bit Joystick.com is Yahoo's New and Notable Sites for Friday March 28, 2003!
Yahoo has added this site to their directory partially to my submittal to the Open Directory project a couple months ago.
So now this site is listed in Yahoo's : Recreation : Games : Video : Games : Magazines!
One of the advantages of having a number at the start of your website's name is that you go the the head of the class alphabetically on a list and I am towards the top.
Yahoo has a special place in my heart because I first starting to use it back during the days of Mosaic 1.0 and it was on the Akebono server at Stanford.edu. Back then entire directory of all websites could easily fit in a small town phone book. Now Yahoo only picks sites that it gives the thumbs up to so it is quite an honor to be listed next to magazines that I love to read such as EGM, Nintendo Power, GamePro and Official Playstation Magazine.
Next week I am going to start to ask game publishers for review copies of games and now that I am listed as a Yahoo recognized magazine that increased my credibility.
So all the new readers from Yahoo I just want to say Hi and this is more of a "zine" than a traditional website. What that means is that no one is paying me to do this and I have creative control. That doesn't mean much except I can rant and swear as much as I see fit and my spelling may not be as good as it should be. I also like to respond to comments and feel that an interaction between reader and writer is one of the most important and exciting features of the new media.
Marshal McLuhan would be so proud of me right about now.

Wow, congratulations! I've been reading Yahoo's Daily Wire for a long time, and I was stunned to see 8BitJoystick.com listed today. This is awesome news! :D

Just a quickie, Great web site for info.I have two boys(10 & 12) who are game addicts. I like the idea of finding out some info on new games for them. Any reviews on the new Gameboy Advance SP? Keep up the good work.

Well I don't really review all the games just some. Gamefaqs.com is more of a research tool than this site. I like to keep things PG-13 or under but this site is not really aimed at kids. I reviewed the GBA SP here
