Xbox 360 Backwards Compatibility Update for April 07 is Almost Too Awesome
Today Microsoft released a massive backwards compatibility update to the Xbox 360.

Now I can play much more original Xbox one games on my 360 including several 2d fighting games. Now this is completely awesome but I had to spend most of tonight driving from one game store to the next all over the county looking for used copies of the Xbox one games that now will work. In fact I spent so much time hunting for games that I spent almost no time playing them tonight. However I let out a squeal of joy when they booted up and worked on my 360.
The single game that I absolutely had to find was Street Fighter Anniversary Collection. I already have this game on the PS2 but the Xbox version has Xbox Live support and the ability to thrash others humans over the internet at Street Fighter III is just to perfect for me to pass up. Capcom Vs SNK 2 still is not supported but Street Fighter Anniversary Collection is the next best thing.
The games that are now supported that I just had to find are:
King of Fighters 2002
King of Fighters: Neowave
Street Fighter Anniversary Collection
Games that I already had that now work are:
Jet Set Radio Future
Panzer Dragoon Orta
Star Wars: Republic Commando
Return To Castle Wolfenstein
I think that Microsoft is really moving in the right direction with Backwards Compatibility updates and I now have way more Xbox one games that do work on the 360 than do not. Tonight I tip my hat to the backwards compatibility team over in Redmond and I wish them Godspeed in their endeavors. Support for Street Fighter Anniversary Collection is really really appreciated. Backwards Compatibility on the Xbox 360 is quickly becoming an awesome feature and not the disappointment that it was back when the only good game that would work was Halo.
