What's in your Gadget Bag Jake?
I thought that these interviews with net nerds over at Gizmodo where they explained what tech devices they have in their gadget bags was pretty cool so being the narcissistic bastard that I am I put mine together.
- My gadget bag is a Jansport Refugee notebook bag that I really like but I am not stoked about the red and grey color. Am impressed with the shock absorbancy and the water proofing of the bag and feel pretty safe carrying my notebook in a Seattle rain storm.
NeoGeo Pocket Color and 3 games or a Gameboy Advance SP with 3 games- The Kodak EasyShare CX4200 is my cheap but effective digital camera. If I had to get another one I would fork out a bit more for one with physical zoom.
- Memory cards for my camera both SD 128MB and MMC 32 MB flavor
- Shag day planner notebook, because paper books do not crash or run out of battery life
Eye glasses case and a static free cleaning cloth- A .5mm 2B mechanical pencil
- Small non-colored art eraser cube
- 4X6 3 spiral ringed Sketchbook
- Washington State Ferry sailing schedules
- a $10 long distance phone calling card. Because cell phones are for chumps.
- Small Sony ear-bud headphones
- A $20 dollar bill in a water-proof plastic bag because you never know when you will need it.
- Sony PS2 Memory Card of my fighting game data to kicks BBQs ass with.
- My eMachines M5305 Notebook
Linksys PMCIA Wifi Card because I got my notebook right before they made WiFi a standard feature.- Extra battery for notebook so you can watch two movies on DVD or fly cross-country without having to talk to anyone.
That just about does it. God I am such a dork.

You're more of a geek than a dork, my friend. Whenever i'm oot and aboot travelling to the other side (which is Bremerton for me), i have my mobile arsenal as well. Just about what you have, in fact, cept i havn't bought a wireless adapter.. and i spent my last 20$ bill at the Crystal Method concert last week *bonus*.
i have one of those timbuk2 bags my g/f bought for me last year.. tons of space and waterproof, which thankfully means the coke some jackhole spilled on it didn't even come close to saturating my notebook pc (and my paper notebooks) with wasted sugary goodness.
*and you always needs to have the spare battery for the notebook.. otherwise you have to be "friendly" on a long flight. God knows that blows goats* ;)

So when are you carrying this bag around with you? The stuff I'm carrying when going out here in Tokyo almost isn't worth mentioning... Wallet (Orange Porter Wallet), a ballpen, a camo handkerchief. Sometimes taking a noname bag and the Ricoh RDC7s digicam of my girlfriend. I stopped carrying my sketchbook with me as I never write anything in it anyway when I'm out shortly.

What do I carry? A Nokia 3210, my Yu-Gi-Oh! wallet and a pen.
It makes my trousers slide down.

I rock out a Chrome messenger bag. Thing is massive.
I always carry the following within it:
Wallet
Keys
CO2 cartridges and pump
Spare tubes
Patch Kit
Tire Levers
Adjustable Wrench (to knock heads, actually to fix a flat if I get one)
Small bike tool kit.
Primo Beanie
Those objects are always in there.
The rest of the space is taken up with beer, hoody, knee pads, computer parts, books, really just depends on whats going on that day.

You say you don't have a cell phone but a phone card? You seem to know alot about wireless etc. but being limited and have to hit the local payphone is a step backwards, It's the faulty/non operational germ infested pay phones that take your money and never send you refunds is the pit's. I'll stick to the less hassle cell phone. If you like the $20.00 card power to you, it's been fun. Take care, be cool and safe. D.C.

A $10.00 phone card is a step backwards unless you don't have any friends and just want to call mom to pick you up from the movies.
I found that pay phones suck and phone cards dont work if you can't hear the other person on the other side and the private de-regulated companys dont ever send refunds back and think of the germs. When pulling off the freeway to make a irgent call, some phones,"Out of order/disconnected due to drug traffic"-notices are a bummer.Ill stick to my cell phone.
