Weekend Extra Credit Reading Assignment

News BoysHere is some weekend extra credit reading assignment for all you good boys and girls who want to get ahead.

I told you folks that the net was the future of Radio.
Internet Radio Makes Bigger Waves
Internet radio has found a niche. Lots of them, in fact.
The Internet offers a staggering variety of music streams, from radio stations' webcasts to playlists customized by advanced software. More than 100 million listeners have tried Web radio and the number of regular monthly listeners has tripled in the last three years, according to ratings agency Arbitron.

You win some..
Big Win for File-Swap Services
Two years after an appeals court hammered the final nail in Napster's coffin, a new federal ruling will allow two remaining file-trading platforms to continue operating. Delivering a significant victory for peer-to-peer networks, a federal judge ruled Friday that two popular file-trading services should not be held liable for copyright infringement committed by their users.

You Loose some..
Online Anonymity Comes Under Fire
Though Verizon recently lost its fight to keep two subscriber's personal information out of the hands of the recording industry, privacy advocates say the real losers are consumers.
Invoking a provision of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, the Recording Industry Association of America subpoenaed Verizon to turn over the name of two of its Internet service subscribers, both alleged file-swappers.

Killer crowbar action!
Here comes Half-Life 2
The pioneering action game redefined a genre. The sequel could help revive an industry.

Oh yeah now you are talking..
Product developers cater to our caffeinated lifestyle
Cappuccino gum, coffee-flavored freezer pops and suntan lotion with coffee extracts are among the caffeinated inspirations in stores. There's even a soap with 200 milligrams of caffeine for those seeking a different kind of morning jolt.

Oh man and some people think that Gay marriage is a threat to marriage. (I don't)
Drive-through mochas, matrimony
At the Rev. Al Holm's drive-through espresso place, you can get a latte, a mocha or a husband. Cheri Henderson chose the last, marrying Bryan Myers in a five-minute ceremony.

Oh yeah and boys and girls with fast net connections should go watch all the Animatrix short animated films. At least the first three are out.

I know it is a weblogger cliche to post stuff from Wired but what the hell I used to read them back before it was cool. I guess in a post dot-com world is it dorky to read Wired Magazine again yet?
