Tune In for Some Good Podcasts

I have been enjoying a few good podcasts since before Apple included podcast support into iTunes 4.9 back when I used iPodder. I love podcasts. I love that they are free, world wide and just about anyone can make one and instantly distribute it to thousands of fellow nerds all over the world. Here are a few of the podcasts that I listen to.

Adam Curry Daily Source Code
The classic Olde Gangster Podcaster with former big MTV hair.

Daily Sonic
My favorite almost daily podcast magazine. This is what NPR would be like if it did not suck

Democracy Now!
Good coverage of the news of the day with a perspective and detail that you just can't get from the craptastic corporate owned newstainment complex.

Engadget Podcasts
Podcasts for nerds with way to much tech on their hands

Free Radio Sub Pop
Free Subpop singles downloaded automatically for your audio pleasure.

KCRW Good Food
I am a nerd and I love to cook.

MAKE Magazine
A podcast and media cast for nerds that are down with the dremel and soldering iron.

Pastor Jack on the MondoGlobo Network
Pastor Jack is enthusiastic and almost insane. He fights the devil with the angelic power of the voice of Tom Jones.

The Chris Pirillo Show
Really awesome interviews, call in tech support show and I was a guest host a while back.

The Good Beer Show
Good Beer, Good music it does not get any more manly that this.

Vegas Vic's Tiki Lounge
Vegas Vics spins some long forgotten lore from the Tiki Lounge of yesteryear.

Update:Podcasts are not like internet radio. Podcasts are automatically downloaded MP3 files that you subscribe to. You just pick the shows you like and they are automatically downloaded to your PC or MP3 player and you are good to go when you are not connected to the net.

Some sites work better in text and some content works better in audio. Just check out a few episodes of Daily Sonic if you don't believe me. Recording a podcast is not the same as writing a post. You can also pause and listen to them whenever you want. It is Wayne' s World and Tivo (but free) for audio and I like it.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll have to check out a few of those. I've got a few new podcasts recorded but unfortunately our host is a bitch and our site is down indefinitely. Sigh. You were great on the Chris Pirillo show man.

I don't know anything about pod-casting, is this basically that someone setups a system where they stream music to the internet?

does this work like internet-radio?

I'm not a fan of podcasts. At least the one's I've checked out. It seems like a waste to download a little bit of some dude talking so I can listen to it once then delete it. I'd rather just READ. It's healthier. Anyone agree?
