The Xbox 360 now comes in Super Dope Black Edition
Microsoft officially announced the Xbox 360 Elite. It looks like Engadget was right on all the important points.
The good news:
1. All black with chrome - Check
2. 120- Gig hard drive - Check
3. HDMI - port and cable - Check
4. Upgrade cable to move data off old hard drive - Check
5. $479 price tag - Check
The bad news:
1. There is no major changes to the CPU chipset. It is just as hot and essentially the same internal design as before.
2. As expected they are going to sell the larger 120-gig hard drive separate for users that want to upgrade their Xbox 360s but it is going to be $179!! A hundred and eighty bucks for a video game memory storage device DAMMMNN!
3. Same noisy DVD-Drive
4. No internal HD-DVD drive
5. No built in Wifi networking
6. No additional USB ports
7. There are more movies available but they still are "rentals" that expire over time
Microsoft had to deliberately leak all this information. I refuse to believe that they can't keep a secret like this until the time of the announcement. Xbox Live's Major Nelson already has his hands on one.
If I was looking to get an Xbox 360 I might consider getting an Xbox 360 Elite but I am quite happy with my current one. Besides my little orange kitty just loves it.

Hmmm... I don't have a HDMI port on my TV, nor do I download TV programmes. I'll stick with my plain old Xbox 360 original!
