The Gameboy Micro is Not for Me
The Nintendo Gameboy Micro comes out next friday on September 19th in the US and I for one think that they are cool but I will not be getting one for the following reasons.
I think they are going to be cute and super keen but there are some good practical reasons why I am going to pass them up.
1. I already have a Nintendo DS. I know that the Gameboy Micro will be small and sexy but I am pretty happy with the battery life, screens and speakers on the Nintendo DS.
2. I have a Playstation Portable.
3. I have a Gameboy Advance SP so if I really want to play gameboy Advance games in a small form factor I have this bad boy.
4. I have a Gameboy Player attached to my Gamecube. If I want to play GBA games on a nice big screen I can do it on my LCD TV through the Gamecube.
5. I got a old Nintendo Gameboy Advance the day they came out and damn it I don't need to buy a fifth game system that can play the same damn Gameboy Advance carts.
6. It can't play Gameboy or Gameboy Color games. So I can't play Legend of Zelda : Oracle of Seasons on it.
7. It can't use the standard link cable with the GBA SP, GBA or Gameboy player
8. It can't use the standard Gamecube Link cable so you can't use it to play Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, Legend of Zelda Four Swords or Animal Crossing on the Gamecube.
9. I got some pretty big hands if you know what I mean.
I am sure that they are going to be cool for people that do not have a Gameboy Advance SP or DS but it is just not for me.

Those are the exact reasons I'm not getting it. I have plenty of other stuff to play GBA games with.
But, I'm guessing I'm not Nintendo's target with it anyway.

I don't know why anyone would purchase the new GBA Micro. You can get one of the updated SP's for $20.00 dollars less, and it has a bigger screen and GB/GBC compatibility.

the SP has a bigger screen than the micro, but they have the same pixel count. There's just more distance between them. GBA micro screen looks very clear with its pixel density.
