The 411 on The New Nintendo system in 2004

Super MarioNintendo has announced their first half yearly loss since the 60s. The company still is selling millions of games and has billions in the bank but will tighten their belt to improve their situation. But they are still on track to make a profit again by the end of the year. In the same announcement they dropped the bomb that Nintendo will release a new game system next year.

Here is what we know and what we do not know and what we are speculating on

What we know:
It will be showed at E3 so summer 2004 all will be revealed.
It will NOT be a replacement for the Nintendo Gamecube
It will NOT be a replacement for the Nintendo Gameboy SP
It will be out in Japan at the end of 2004 and probably the rest of the world shortly after that.
It is being designed and made in Japan and Nintendo of the US is saying that they do not know any details.

Jake smiling psychoticly over Super Mario SunshineWhat we do not know:
We have no idea about the price point.
We have no idea about the power and capabilities of the system
We have no idea about the design of the system
We have no idea about the media format will be used for the games.
We have no idea about the actual games that will be played for it.
We have no idea about the name or the code word for the system

What we are guessing about:
It might be a cheap game system with a low price point.
It might be related to the iQue Nintendo system in China
It might use a memory card system like the iQue
It might be networked or wireless
It might not be like existing video game concepts.

Well there you go we know that there will be something but we do not know much else. So I would like to end with a quote from Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld.

The Unknown
As we know,
There are known knowns.
There are things we know we know.
We also know
There are known unknowns.
That is to say
We know there are some things
We do not know.
But there are also unknown unknowns,
The ones we don't know
We don't know.

So basically they are going to make a cheap game system to try to get themselves out of a hole. That just seems wrong.

They really are not that bad in shape financially. They had one red quarter and that is not bad considering they slashed the price of the Gamecube and they were in the black for over thirty years. They will be back in the black by the end of the year.

We don't really know what they are going to do. It is pure speculation at this point. Nintendo claims that they have this innovative new system that is unlike anything that we have seen. Here is hoping it is more like the Gameboy Advance SP and less like the VirtualBoy

Haha, I'll bet they're doing Virtual Boy 2.

Well the man who designed the Virtualboy died in 1997. The legendary Gumpei Yokoi was the man who designed the Gameboy and NES

I'm afraid its going to end up being some kind of Virtual Pokemon pet. I can see nintendo making a big deal about a Robot Dog or something like that.

This new nintendo system (maybe called N5) Will be awsome. It will have a lot of new things in it to kick crack. Such as up to 8 wireless controls. So no more cords. And it will have a Broadband adapter in it. Digital sound and you put the Games in the front like a car CD player. That is just what I saw and read in the Game informer magazine. So beleive it or not, this system is gonna kick....And I'm sure there gonna get a very powerful processor also. Along with ATI, it will be dominant, I almost garante it. As long as people will get off there stupid distored conception of nintendo as a kiddy system. I feel that it will shock us all.

So PuddleMonkey do you have any proof to back it up?

BTW. the new Nintendo system for 2004 will not be N5.
