Tasty Links for November 2nd 2006
I just got Grand Theft Auto : Vice City Stories for PSP and I'll write up a review tonight.
GAF - News - Wii Virtual Console games for 2006 announced, with pricing
This sucks that Japan is getting a whole bunch of newer games than the US and Europe. I am probably going to blow about 40 bucks or so on virtual Console games when I get my Wii.
I think the prices are good at $5 for NES/Famicom, $6 PC Engine/TurboGrafx, $8 for SuperNes/Super Famicom and Genesis/Megadrive and $10 for Nintendo 64. That is cheaper than most used game store for physical carts. But the great thing about this is that there are no limits to the old games that they can sell. There is no such thing of a "Rare" digitally distributed games since there is no limit to supply.
I can't wait for
Nes:
The Legend of Zelda
Genesis:
Gunstar Heroes
Toe Jam & Earl
Super Nes:
F-Zero
N-64:
Super Mario 64
TG-16:
Bomberman '93
Bonk's Adventure
It sucks that Japan is getting the following games at launch and we have to wait:
Super Mario Bros.
Street Fighter II
Super Castlevania IV
Super Mario World
Zelda: Link to the Past
Shadow Dancer: The Secret of Shinobi
Puyo Puyo
EA continues to exploit, charging $50 for Need for Speed unlockables - Joystiq
That just plain sucks. Charging for cheat codes is quite lame.
GAF - News - Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin (DS) trailer - secret characters revealed
Man this is looking like it is going to be the best Castlevania game since Symphony of the Night. It is a pity that they pushed it back until February.
Noodle-bar robber pays bill before getaway
If you have ever seen the movie Tampopo you would know better than to mess with Japanese noodle shops
Monkey Disaster : Even The Lord of Darkness Loves Conservatize Me!
The author of that book that I was reading yesterday put my picture on his blog.
Happy Halloween (Remake Details from Rob Zombie)! - Cinematical
Rob Freaking Zombie is working on a remake of the original Halloween. I think that is awesome and that Halloween H20 should have been the last one of the series but starting a new series is a good idea.
Hot Fuzz Site is Live – Cinematical
The makers of Shaun of the Dead is making a new buddy cop action comedy called Hot Fuzz with the "Ed and Shaun". How's that for a slice of fried gold?!
28 Weeks Teaser -- In Rough (But Still Groovy) Form – Cinematical
Kick ass they are making a sequel to the scariest zombie flick ever made. It is probably an alternative tale of the zombie apocalypse.
Elite Beat Agents ad rocks YouTube - DS Fanboy
Groovy! Go check it out!
Blockbuster to accept online DVD returns at stores
That is a good idea but I still think Netflix rules. For me it is a lot closer to go to my mailbox to return some disks than to drive out of my way to my local Blockbuster store.
Rodriguez and More Join the Battle in Seattle – Cinematical
So they are outsourcing the shooting of a movie about a massive anti-globalism protest in Seattle to Canada. The irony still has a bite.
The calming effect of sausages – Slashfood
All the chicks are calmed by a good tasty hot sausage.... What?
Four Billion Games of Halo 2 Played and Counting

Xbox Live's Major Nelson : Having an issue with the Fall update
MS had to patch an update that was occasionally killing Xbox 360s.
Gamerscore Blog : XNA Studio Express Beta 2 Ships Today
Cool I can't wait to see indy homebrew games on the 360
forgetsony.tk
A Sony boycott website that is still pissed about them being dicks about imported PSP units. I would add my grips about Sony USA being Anti-2d Game Fascists.

I'm also mad that Japan gets Gradius and R-Type III. I've been hoping that "secret revelation" that is supposed to be revealed closer to launch has something to do with being able to transfer VC games to your DS somehow (like with a special DS memory cart that would contain the emulators).
If they announced that, I would buy the Wii faster than Tickle Me Elmo could get XXXtreme this holiday season.

Woo... 4 billion games of Halo 3.... I'm wondering how many games of CS have been played now. OO
Then again, Xbox Live allows the kind of tracking that couldn't happen with CS.
I'm glad I waited(unintentional) a day or two before I turned on my 360 for the fall update though. I'd hate to brick my system.

Toejam and Earl... there may be a Wii in my near future yet. Not that Smash Bros. Brawl wasn't enough motivation.

Zelda Wii aparently is better than the cube version too.
I can't wait for the machine in general. I love the interface, something I've been wanting for a while.
