Yesterday I screwed up the software on my old Emachines Windows Laptop that I’ve been using since the hard drive in my iBook died. So I had to wipe it and reinstall windows. Fun fun fun. I didn’e loose any data since seriously use external drives but it is a big pain.
On next week I am going to finally order a Mac Mini.
Now on to the news:
At their press conference in Japan Nintendo announced a new Ninetnedo DS called the DSi that will have an online store like the Wii, an camera, a built in web browser but it is going to loose the GameboyAdvance slot. It is not coming to the US this fall or any time soon.
It big news is that at they are finally going to fix the Wii Storage issue and allow data to be run off the SD cards. There is going to be a software update in spring 2009 and it is now only say two years too late.

Early word on the Wii SD card bit was that there would be a (surprise) proprietary 2GB SD card which you could execute games off. That's my main concern. If that turns out to be true, no thanks. I hate to say it, but if they don't enable the full feature set for every SD card, NO. It's essentially telling their most profitable customers - people who've downloaded 2GB of games that had their development costs covered years ago - they're not profitable enough.
