Sorry I Suck Sometimes
One of the only harder things that writing for my website is not writing for my website. There are just some days when your schedule does not allow you the time to write for it or you are not in the mood and are overburdened with other things and you just want to hit the bed and put it off. Sometimes I will post a list of links instead of writing a nice decedent article but just about anyone with a RSS reader can do the same.
Some times you can be stressed, depressed and bummed our about work and day to day life and that does not contribute to an attitude where I can put together a good article.
One thing is living on my own and still having a meaningful relationship with my girlfriend Kymberly. We made the decision that I am going to be moving into her place and I can see us getting married one of these days. She has her own set of health problems that I have been trying to help her through. That and we have five furry kitties that we are raising together. I can't wait to set up my video game lounge at her place and be able to play Gamecube while the kitties hang out on my couch with me.
I have been involved in a whole bunch of political stuff including meetings and my Institute for a Democratic Future program that take up at least one weekend a month. I have been learning a lot from the program and as the 2006 election approaches I am going to be doing volunteering voter registration drives again. Last election season in 2004 I probably registered between three hundred and a thousand new voters. Lot of the time I would hand out the form and it would be up to them to fill it out and mail it off so I don't have any hard numbers only we had a crazy election in 2004 and every vote counted in Washington state and I am proud of the difference I made. Who knows some day I will probably run for state legislature.
Some days I will just simply watching some TV or a movie that does really interest by readers. I just watched Brokeback Mountain on DVD and I can't see my review going well next to my PSP game reviews.
This weekend I was out of town in an IDF trip across the state and today I had to get a broken tooth fixed with a root canal and a full crown. I have been watching TV all day and groggy as the pain killers wore off. There is yet another Xbox 360 worth of money spent at the dentist.
I feel damn sorry and I feel that I let my readers down sometime and I feel like I let my self down sometime when I don't have anything to write about or I only have half formed ideas with no time to flesh it out.
I tend to go through phases where it can be damn hard to write for this website and others when it hard to stop. I don't ever see myself giving up on this website but it can get damn hard some time and I am sorry about that. Thanks for still checking this site and things will eventually normalize for me.

I'll be checking 8bit until it goes down. Hopefully that never happens.

Hey, don't worry about it, man. The only reason we get angry when you don't update is because your website is so friggin' awesome when you do! Keep up the good work, whenever your schedule allows. I'll still be here

Jake - Your website rocks! We all haves ups and downs. Your website is great because of your intimate style. Beyond the solid game reviews, the trips to DC in suit and tie and the Halloween romps down Broadway - set you apart. Keep up the good work.

I don't remember how I stumbled on your site... but I've been enjoying it since. The ease with you write, the comfort of your articles, talks about games, technology, or whatever interests you, these are all things that keep me coming back.
What you've written about you and Kymberly reminds me of Vicky and I. We've known each other since 1998, we've been married since 2000. We have a good relationship, but she's bemused by the blogging. When we had a complete stranger walk up to us one day and say to me, "You're Ken! ...and you must be Vicky." That certainly freaked her a little bit, and slightly unsettled me. It's really interesting and profound how blogs can touch each others' lives.
Do what interests you, write when the muse strikes, and know that we're all with you. I'd vote for you, my wife wouldn't... sorry, I'm a liberal and she's Republican. Can't win 'em all.

No worries. I've got a blog without any new entries for nearly a month now. Sometimes there are more important things than teh internets.
BTW- was that a wedding proposal slipped in there?

We are not quite engaged quite yet but it is pretty serious.

Jake - I stumbled on your site via GeoURL a while back and read on and off for a while, now a regular. It's great when you write, so don't chance ruining it by forcing yourself to.

Be good to yourself. Whatever pace works that keeps you from burning out - that would be worse.
I am anxious to hear your take on the name for the game system formerly known as the Nintendo Revolution.
