SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos Fighters Announced
Hot Diggity Damn! NeoGeo owners Playmore have updated their website and shown the lineup of SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos. There are only sixteen fighters in this game but it looks like not of them suck. Given the fact that this is going to be a NeoGeo cart game the sixteen fighters is understandable.
And they are..
The SNK Side
Kyo
Iori
Mai
Terry
Earthquake (from Samurai Showdown )
Ryo
Shiki (from Samurai Showdown 64)
Choi
The Capcom Side
Ryu
Ken
Chun-Li
Hugo (from SF3 but no Zangief)
Guile
Tabasa (from Pocket Fighter)
Dhalsim
Akuma
The art style looks more like the newer King of Fighter games and most likely the Capcom fighters will be redrawn to match the style of the SNK artists. Damn I can't wait to play and get this game. It will be out in Japanese arcades this summer and hopefully a US home version or an importable Dreamcast version will be announced soon.
Update: Yesterday a Japanese magazine was published that had some more fighters added to the game.
The SNK side
Genjuro from Samurai Showdown
Kim from Fatal Fury and KOF
Mr. Karate from ???
Kasumi Todoh From Art of Fighting
The Capcom Side
Sagat from Street Fighter
M. Bison from Street Fighter
Vega from Street Fighter
Balrog from Street Fighter
Also the game was shown at the E3 Expo and here are some screenshots from it. Expect it this fall on PS2.

Given that this is a NeoGeo cart the decision to go with only 16 is understandable? Pish tosh! This is the system that gave us King of Fighters, remember?
Bah. I think the NeoGeo Pocket SvC game had more fighters than that.

The NeoGeo Pocket SvC game had sprits that were the size of dimes. I just hope this game looks as good as it can and plays as good as it can... and that I can get a copy.

Yeah, but... HUGO? They could have at least given us Alex, or Ibuki... *grumble, piss, moan*

ME PARECEN JUSTOS LOS PERSINAJES QUE HAY PORQUE TODOS SON INTERESANTES AUNQUE HUBIERA SIDO MEJOR ALGUNO NUEVO Y NO TANTO RYU,KEN Y SU PUTA MADRE.

Well the line up is pretty standard stuff but it is cool that there is Hugo and Tabasa.
I only understood half of your comment because I do not speak Spanish. I had to translate it online.

Mana la formación es materia bastante estándar pero está fresco que hay Hugo y Tabasa. Entendía solamente mitad de su comentario porque no hablo español. Tuve que traducirlo en línea.

I think the game would be great because I'm a really big Street Fighter fan. I like the characters on capcom side, Ken, Ryu, Chun Li, and Hugo. I hope that they could put the game on PS2, Gamecube, or X Box. I also like the King of the Fighters characters that they selected.

Mike it looks like it is coming to US PS2 this fall. Playmore/SNK is going to be showing this game at the E3 Expo next week. If you were a really big Street fighter you would not wait for the PS2 version and just buy the $200 NeoGeo cart version! hahaha

My idea for the ideal SNK vs Capcom is the complete mixture of "Garou: Mark of the Wolves" Characters and the "Street Fighter 3: Third Strike" Characters. Both fightings systems would be mixed and the charcters would have good fueds with each other for example
Gato vs Yun/Yang
Butt vs Akuma/Ryu
Hugo/Alex vs Tizoc
do you get the idea?

This time, I think Playmore won't make a DC version of SvC. There are no news telling something about it.
Posted by: Snakyearrow at May 29, 2003 10:09 AM
Well they are still making a DC port of KOF 2002 in Japan.
Posted by: Jake at May 29, 2003 10:29 AM
I know, but the news are only talking about PS2 and Xbox.
Anyway, I would like to see it on DC too.

Mr. Karate is Takuma from King of the fighters
Posted by: King at July 1, 2003 8:53 PM
Not exactly, Mr. Karate is Ryo and Yuri's father disguised with the silly mask in the first Art of Fighting game. Oh... it's nice to see Kim in this too... I hope they have most to all his moves restored rightfully to him, like in KoF '98, especially the Sandblaster attack (that beautiful circular leg slash that could go for three consecutive rounds up in the air... down,up + punch move) and the TERRIFIC AIR SPECIAL!!

Posted by: thomas pino at July 22, 2003 11:34 AM
PS2. Later on this fall
Posted by: Jake at July 22, 2003 11:36 AM
Me conformo con que siga Akuma, porque es cojonudo.
Pero por que rayos meten a Hugo, ese gordo inutil solo estorba. Ah, y deberían meter a Andy que es también un fregón...y no Choi.
