This just is. Eurogamer is reporting that a PS2 port of SNK VS Capcom : SVC Chaos will be shown at E3, Playmore is opening up a new US office called SNK NeoGeo USA Consumer. Also a 3d version of Metal Slug in in the works and King of Fighters 2001 and Metal Slug are being ported to Gameboy Advance.
Hopefully this will also mean that the Japanese Playstation 2 ports of Metal Slug 3 and King of Fighters 2000 well be coming to the states. I still will probably import KOF 2002 Dreamcast when I ships this summer.
So SNK is back from the dead.

Goddamn it! Why does Metal Slug have to go 3-D? The biggest part of the game's appeal was that it had mad 2-D sprite goodness exploding all over the screen. I think the shift to 3-D will kill most of what makes the series great. Though...y'know....I am kind of curious as to how the game may turn out. If they can pull it of, and that is a BIG if, it might be worth checking out. Hmmn.
Hey I am skeptical as well. But then again look at Gradius, Mario, Zelda and Metal Gear. They all went gracefully into the 3d world. Hell am just glad that they are making new SNK games at all. I don't think that 2d games are going away any time soon and hopefully they will bring out the PS2 ports of Metal Slug 3 and 4 that are quite 2D.
