See you at the Crossroads you Crispy Crazy Squirrel Bastard

Yesterday right when I was about to leave work I got a urgent call from Kymberly. It ends up that the electricity was out in the house and she had already went underneath the house and climbed over all the crap down in the basement to get to the switch box and checked all the breakers. She reset them all but the lights didn't come back on and she wanted to make damn sure that I had paid the power bill on time.

I went online and confirmed that we were in good standing with the power company and asked her to calm down while I called the power company. The power company confirmed that our account was good and dispatched someone to come and take a look at our power. It ends up no one else in the neighborhood have reported any other power outages.

So I left work after printing out the contact information for the power company. I stopped by Taco Time and got Kymberly her favorite fast food order two corn tacos with refried beans, mexi-fries (Aka Tater-tots) catchup, hot sauce and a coke. Then at the grocery store I got four bundles of wood and a box of fire starters and a six pack of one of my favorite beers, Dead Guy Ale. Kymberly can get super claustrophobic when the power is out and a tasty cold one would make things go easier. I was going to suggest that we go see a movie like 300 or go shopping where there is power and heat. I have no problem reading a book by the light of a glow stick, playing my PSP, DS and Gameboy Advance or listening to my iPod.

But when I got home the power was back on and I inquired about this. It ended up there was a power truck in the area and they check out our transformer hookup and found a roasted completely dead fried squirrel next to it. The poor little guy touched the points that he shouldn't have and completed the circuit. He is now gathering nuts up in squirrel heaven. So I poured half a beer on the ground and played some Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers for NES to honor the memory of that furry crispy little guy who gave his life for the honest pursuit of nuts.

Dead Guy Ale? More like Dead Squirrel Ale! The squirrel was a freedom fighter who was patriotically cutting off your terror connections, you NUT you!

Not the first male creature who killed himself trying to get a nut:)
