Review: Tekken 4 on PS2
Last week I rented Tekken 4 and was damn tempted to buy it. So I thought I would pass on what I thought about the game. I like Tekken 2 and 3 but never really got into Tekken Tag Tournament. (Not to say that I don't like it just haven't gotten into it yet.)
Tekken 4 was a lot of fun and it has some of the best graphic and animation that I have seen anywhere but the game play hasn't really changed from Tekken 2 and 3. And Tekken 4 has way less characters than Tag Tournament. The character models and animations were done completely from scratch and the lighting and environments are mind blowing. I like the fact that the little Chinese girl has grown up and I can play her without feeling like a sicko. There is no legacy PS1 art left around and the fake 3d background of Tag Tournament have been replaced with lush interactive 3d environments that you can walk though. The spaces are huge and they are a real factor in a fight. But Virtua Fighter 3 and 4 were first at taking advantage of this concept. The music was awesome really kick ass techno that really put you in the mood. If only Marvel Vs Capcom 2 had this music the world would be a better place. I have a lot of good things to say about this game but I have some good 3d fighters that will take priority of my time such as Virtua Fighter 4, Tekken Tag Tournament and soon Soul Caliber 2. I am glad I rented it and I have a lot of good things to say about this game I just plan on waiting nine months or so until it enters the Playstation Greatest Hits Collection or I see it used for a good price.
Tekken 4 is not about innovation it is about perfection. It is a damn good 3d fighting game that is not so original but it is almost perfect in it's execution of a tried concept of genre. The graphics and animation are so good that Xbox DOA3 fans should just shut up because Tekken 4 make them TALK TO THE HAND GIRLFRIEND.
8 Out of 10.

Hi I just want to say that I love Tekken 4 so much. Tha graphics on this game so damn cool lookin. My favorite character is Steve, Xiaoyu, Miharu, and Nina. Oh and Law but I mostly use Steve because of his boxing skills. Im unstopable when using him.
