Review : SkinTight iPod Mini Skins
I am on a business trip to New England and I had to spend around 48 hours in airports and planes in order to get here because of the damn weather delays. My iPod kept me sane and docile during this annoying ordeal.
I thought it would be a good idea to get a protective skin for my iPod Mini so I could slip it into my pocket and not worry about it getting scratched up. So there were some leather and metal cases but that did not look that appealing to me. But lo and behold I found these cool transparent rubber sleeves from Speck Products. I wish I could have found a single pack and just buy one but they packaged three skins together and charged twenty four bucks or so for the pack. It comes in a transparent blue, clear and transparent pink sleeves. Since i have a silver iPod the transparent blue sleeve makes it look a bit more colorful.
These are basically a big condom for your iPod mini. It adds a protective coating that feels rather organic and soft to the touch. It makes the iPod feel rather naughty to the touch like a sex toy.
There is a well cut hole for the top headphone jack and hold switch, the bottom port, the LCD display and the scroll wheel. One of the cool things is this new hole around the scroll wheel can be easily found with out having to look for it so you can have your iPod in a shirt pocket and change the song with just tapping through your shirt.
It is surreal how expensive some iPod accessories can be but I guess it is smart to go after the market because we are some nerdly iPod loving dorks. This thing looks pretty cool and is nice to the touch. It makes your iPod not slip around when it is on a flat surface and it protects it while making it sort of look like a sex toy.

Hey Jake--where in New England are you? If you're near Boston, give me a shout via email--maybe we can hook up.

I was in CT and RI but now I am back in good old WA. It was an in and out trip for work. Some time it would be cool to go and actually have time to see the place.
