Review: PS2 to Xbox Connector
Last week I finally found one of these babies at my local Game Stop and since I reviewed the PS2 to GameCube adapter it only made sense to talk about this thing. It is made by Innovation Technologies and it technically called the Innovation XBox X-Connection PlayStation 2 Dual Shock Converter and sells for 25 bucks.
It does exactly what it is intended to do and it does it well. You just plug the thing in and power on the Xbox. No software or configuration changes needed.
The only issue comes from the pressures sensitive trigger buttons on the top of the Xbox controller are have a spring in them with a greater range of movement so you really have more range of pressures but the PS2 pad seems to go almost to 100% with the lightest touch. But that is due to the difference between the PS2 click style buttons and the gun trigger style buttons on the top of Xbox controller. However Crazy Taxi 3 actually seemed to benefit from this and it was easier to do Crazy boosts using the PS2 controller but I preferred playing Sega GT 2002 and Project Gotham Racing with the Xbox Controller S.
Vibration worked fine but it didn't seen as strong as it did on the Xbox.
Another spiffy thing about it is the Memory card and Xbox Live connectors on the unit so I can use my Pelican Arcade Fighting Stick for PS2 online with Capcom VS SNK 2 EO.
It is not a licensed product by either Microsoft or Sony but it works just fine. I recommend this to everyone who has ever complained about the Xbox controllers or who has some favorite PS2 controllers.
9 out of 10! IT IS FOR XBOX AND IT IS DOPE!

Do you know where I could get one of the Xbox/PS2 converters for a good deal without having to have it shipped from over seas. Thanks

It all sounds great, but can u use the headset with it?
Posted by: Kendrick at February 12, 2003 9:14 PM
Yes and no. you have to be really close to the Xbox because it plug in to the adapter. If you had an extention cord it would work better but technically it works fine. I played some Unreal Championship with the PS2 Pad.

Thanks a bunch. I will deffinitely get x-connection then. It's at my local shop so it's the #1 choice for me.
As for extension cords, what kind would you need? (I don't currently have an xbox yet). Once Capcom vs. SNK 2 EO hits my local store, I am getting the whole bundle I need to go online with it.
If you happen to know availablity on the extension cords let me know.
Thanks in advance.

The PS2 gamepad has 4 buttons on top the Xbox has 2. It actually works out fine. At least it did before I traded in my Xbox.

Have you seen the MadCatz MiniCon? It is a smaller gamepad for Xbox.
http://www.madcatz.com/MadCatz/product_details.jsp?product_id=4536
You might just want to get her a good book until her hand recovers.

thanks for link.. but the problem with this madcatz-pad is, that the left stick is to high for her. with the ps2-pad the left&right stick are close togheter at bootom of pad.. she cant straddle her left fingers so high. but i recive a email from a other vendor. he has a adpater with XBL-plug. i wait now for a link to order. i will write the link here after recive this mail..

I have never seen one. I can't imagine why you would want to do that.

im looking for a converter so u can use an xbox controller on the ps2 also...i really like the game need for speed underground on the xbox because of the trigger buttons on the top...but for ps2 there are no springs under the shoulder buttons so it makes game play less comfortable for me

Why don't you get a racing wheel?

Hi guys, I know that it's pretty easy to grab any old PS2-to-Xbox Adapter on Ebay but I've recently done that twice now and those crappy products have failed to sort out my problems.
I own a Xbox mainly for Emulation/Retro Machines and I also have a PS2. My favourite controller I use is the Re-Released Sega Saturn pad for the Playstation 2 which I use to play all my PS2 fighting games.
I wanted to use this for playing all those Mega Drive Roms on my Modded Xbox as I simply cannot stand the Xbox pad (and that includes the S-Controller).
The problem I've had with these adapters is precision / response times. I always seem to get a delay in my button presses and it's the same when I use a regular PS2 pad in them.
Now I know that there are some quality adapters out there that have perfect precision such as the Total Control for the Sega Dreamcast so I was wondering if anyone can recommend this one in that regard and if not, which other adapters would you reccommend?
Cheers - Charlie

Found this blog on a google for "Xbox to PS2 adapter" - I'm in the minority of people who absolutely love the old school "Duke" Xbox controller. I was hoping there'd be a way, thanks to INTERNET, that I could play all the great games of the PS2 with the comfortable controller custom-made for Manly Man Hands such as mine. Seems to be a bit of a niche market =(
Anyone know if such a thing exists?

I have a Mas Super Pro joystick for PS2. Will this converter to Xbox work with my Mas stick?
