I am sitting here Sunday morning having a bowl of cereal an a small can of Japanese coffee before riding my ass over to the ferry docks to catch the 10:20 to Seattle. I just thought I would do a five minute review of a product very close to my heart.
Malt-O-Meal Cereal in the resealable bag is damn tasty and it is not insanely priced. Normal cereal in a box by the breakfast monopolies is price gouged at surreal rates. I mean a box of flavored, corn, rice and sugar is priced at almost five bucks?!?!? What the Hell? Malt-O-Meal resealable bags are a dollar less at 4 bucks but you get over twice the amount of Cereal and since you can zip it up it stays fresh longer than a regular non air tight box.
Sure there is no prize inside and it is lacking some name brand cartoon animals but those are minor prices one must accept in order to avoid the shaft of the Barons of Breakfast
Not to mention most Malt-O-Meal brand cereals actually taste better than the "name brand"
Well technically Malt-o-meal is a name brand just not a brand that spends millions on tv commercials on Nicklodean. Come to think of it the only thing that makes Tony the Tigar and pals different from the genaric cartoon animals on Malt-o-Meal bags is the reinforced branding on saturday morning tv.
Did you ever see those commercials where the people were stooping in the aisles so they could get the bags of Malt-O-Meal? Although that was like 4 years ago.
Hence the quotation marks around "name brand" ;). That's more than likely the reason it is not as expensive, no expensive marketing campaigns. Advertising is expensive.
WOW i thought that I was the only one that thought malt-o-meal was better than the lameass corporate competition
