Review : Limited Edition Halo 3 Wireless Controller : Spartan for Xbox 360

Last time I went over to my pal BBQ's place over in Seattle I brought my MadCatz Xbox 360 gamepad. Unfortunately I accidently left the break-away USB plug at his place and he can't find it. So I can't use my controller since we can't find that plug. Darn. I've been contemplating getting another Xbox 360 wireless controller. I ended up getting the Limited Edition Halo 3 Wireless Controller : Spartan

This sucker is a stylized version of the Xbox 360 wireless controller but with a really detailed slick looking comic book graphic illustration by Todd McFarlane of the Master Chief on one side and a spartan team in a warthog on the other. The detailed comic book graphics are not some sticker or painted on but actually integrated into the plastic. The backside of the controller is a very slick matte black like the Xbox 360 Elite controller. It the front looks very smooth, tough and feels great.

This also comes with a small figurine of the Master Chief done by McFarlane Toys. It looks pretty cool on my desk.

I had to get a black chargeable battery pack for it but I already had a play-and-charge cable.

The wireless Halo 3 controllers are 60 bucks plus the battery pack so that is a pretty pricey controller but I am going to be playing Xbox 360 games for years to come and if your in the market for another Xbox 360 controller these things are slick. They also make a "Brute" version and It's a must for Halo fans. Hella Halo dope!

I think madcatz needs to just stop making game stuff. They have always sucked since they started during the PS1 era. They have horrible products and even terrible longevity. Wireless is the ONLY way to go nowadays with controllers, I agree that any long term gamer will need one.
