Now that I am done ranting about the joys of 2d fighting games (for now), I am going to get back to my other project and go on about the joys and pains of Japanese canned coffee. Right now the brand that is being tested and roasted is JT Roots by JTI Beverages of Japan.
Over all I really did not like these as much as I enjoined BOSS and Mr Brown. It wasn't just because the fact that they lacked a cartoon mascot but the over all drinking experience was not really up to par with the other brands. But a cartoon mascot would help them. I just can't wait for Wendy's Hamburgers to resurrect Dave Thomas in cartoon form like KFC has been doing with Co. Sanders.
But enough of the bollocks on to the coffee.
JT Roots Real Blend.
It has a weirdly shaped can like an hour glass. Much better on my gut and mouth than the bitter ones. Not sweet and heavily creamed but just about neutral acidity. Nothing to write home about. But perhaps I am getting jaded for Japanese coffee but it got the job done.
JT Roots Double Taste
This one is mildly acidic, medium sugar, watery cream, strong coffee after taste and lots of caffeine. It tastes like bold coffee and should not be drunken by wimps who do not like the dark flavor of coffee.
JT Roots Bitter Taste
REALLY REALLY STRONG. Really bitter and acidic. very little cream and sugar. The cream is added to stabilize the flavor. Wow that kicked my stomach and taste bud's ass. I felt like getting my stomach pumped afterward and it has the aftertaste of rusty nails. The mind numbing effects of good and loud techno music helped my body cope with ingesting this.
JT Roots Aroma Black
This is pure dark strong cold bitter coffee with no sugar or flavor. Almost totally undrinkable but I need my caffeine so I am going to finish the can and regret it. This is the black tar heroin of the canned Japanese coffee. Only people who have serious problems use this.
They are drinkable but no where near as good as the other brands of Japanese Coffee. They are the canned coffee equivelant of vodka out of the bottle and are most likely enjoined by people with serious caffeine addictions rather than the general population.

how nice of them to make the can ergonomic
I hope you drank all four cans in one sitting.
I too prefer the Mr. Brown & Boss blends. My wife recently suprised me with this when I opened the fridge.

Nah I spaced it out over two mornings. I know my limit of the amount of coffee I can take.
God if I could find a woman who did that I would propose to her in a heart beat.
