At the suggestion of Anita I had to try El Sabroso Salsitas Chips by Snak King. These are not mass distributed and are a tasty alternative to Doritos and the Wal-Mart generic brand chips.
First thing you notice is the strong smell of lime and spices when you pop open the bag. Booyah!
These are round thick corn chips that have a good bite to them.
Salsitas are covered with a red tomato powder not cheesy like you would expect from Doritos or similar chips. They are flavored with a tang of lime, onion, pepper, spice and salt. It has a pleasant bite in the taste and is not as bland as your typical neo-Mexican snack chip
Now they pull off the almost lie by setting the serving size at 1.5 on the bag so they can print lower number in the nutritional info label. They weigh in at 13% daily limit of fat, 140 calories, 80 fat calories, and 7% daily limit of sodium. Not health food but they are not going to kill you by eating them once and a while.
I like them and if I can find a place to buy a bigger bag of them I would. That would be a happy munching time. El Sabroso Salsitas are a suggested snack for watching sci-fi movies and Anime.
I get mine at that exotic store, Safeway.
those aren't bad, but have a little too much bite for me...i like those Guacachips (guacamole chips) from snak king...verrrrrry nummy...especially w/(mild!) salsa and sour cream....oh heaven!! :D

I might have to give em' a try. I'm always looking for new chips, but I still have a craving for cheetos. Did you know they make Natural Cheetos?

Jake, man... these things are the shiznit! The Guacachips are hella crazy good, too. That Snak King is da man, know what I'm sayin'? I need to look into movin' to the mad crazy Snak Kingdom.
what kinda human being eats guacachips??? thats gross. and as for my chip selection... it's either tostitos and salsa or ruffles and ranch. none of this crazy flavored weird chips.. with the exception of ranch doritos.+
Your looking for a bigger bag? One word COSTCO! They have them there & quite the variety too. The Guac chips are good as well.
anna, the guacachips are delish...the taste is very similar to doritos, but sooooo much better...frankly, i don't get the guacamole part though, b/c they don't taste like it much to me...*shrugs*
it uses the prefix of "guaca".. how can you eat that?
i ignore the name...eat the chips...plus, i'm addicted to the combo of salsa and sour cream...so anything that facilitates me eating the two together is heeeeeeeeeavenly...;)
p.s. it's not like they're "guanochips" ;) i couldn't eat those...hahaha

The guac chips are the best I have ever had. Salsitas are pretty good as well. Have only seen them at Wally World and Sam's here in NC
HOLLY WHATEVER! I AM MUNCHING ON MY FIRST BAG OF SALSITAS! I'D NEVER HEARD OF THEM AND I HAD TO FIND A WEBSITE TO FIND OUT WHERE TO BUY THEM! OK, BESIDES SAFEWAY (I'M NOT IN CALIFORNIA ANYMORE. . .IN FLORIDA) WHERE CAN I FIND THESE?!!

This is the first time that I tried the 'El Sabroso' Salsitas chips. I Think that they are great. They are 2nd on my list of chips. 'Limon' chips from Lays is my favorite.
In either case, I cannot find larger bags than the snack size. I would love to find larger bags of both....Jeff
I just wanted to let you know that Amazon Grocery carries Snak King (including El Sabroso products). They are currently out of stock on Salsitas, but fortunately for me, we have them in our vending machine at work so if I get a craving they're usually around (well, maybe that's not a good thing haha).
If you can't find them and want a chip with good flavor and bite go for Doritos Black Pepper Jack or for more fire try the Fiery Habenero...mmmm!
I love these. I hope to find these locally since I don't want to pay for 12 bags of 12 oz chips... too much of a good thing!
I eat these at my college. They are fantastic. Im looking for them elsewhere, like wal-mart, as I've only seen them here.
