Review : Capcom VS SNK2 EO for Xbox Live
Capcom VS SNK2 EO for Xbox Live is the Absolute shitznits!
I started playing it on 6:30 PM and I didn't stop to eat or go to the bathroom until midnight. It isn't perfect but it is so damn good. First of all the control sucks if you want to use a standard Xbox Pad. If you are really serious I would get a good joystick for the Xbox.
The port is good but the Xbox live game play is one of the most rewarding video gaming experiences I have ever had. Hell this was the real reason I got a cable modem and Xbox in the first place.
First of all I just wanted to say that I am no stranger to this game and have it on the Dreamcast and PS2. I have been playing Capcom fighting games since Street Fighter hit the arcades with the really big buttons that you pounded with your fists. Capcom VS SNK2 is my favorite Capcom fighter it is not perfect but so damn good. Not a day goes by that I do not wish that they would formally announce the existence of Capcom VS SNK3. I like 3d games but there is nothing like fighting old school style with my 2d gods.
You get the standard version of the game with the EO Easy Operation mode that they added for the GameCube port. The EO mode means they can trigger a super move just by pressing the left joystick. This is lame and scoffed at by old school gamers like my self but luckily that can be easily filtered out online. Also there is a re play feature that uses the Xbox hard drive to save a match so you can savor a particularly good kill.
When you go on Xbox live you are ranked by the matches that you have fought online, the number of your wins online and the ranking of the people that you beat.
The first Rule of Capcom VS SNK2 EO for Xbox Live is that you do not talk about Capcom VS SNK2 EO for Xbox Live!
The second rule of Capcom VS SNK2 EO for Xbox Live is that YOU DO NOT TALK ABOUT Capcom VS SNK2 EO for Xbox Live!
There is only two people to a fight so all the bandwidth is spent of communication and voice. I have had no problem with lag but there is some players that turn off voice chat to they can devote all their bandwidth to the fight. I have a damn good cable modem connection so it is not an issue. The voice chat gets cut off when the Xbox is loading graphic data between fights but that is a minor issue. And sometimes the music cuts out on the Online play. A weird bug and I hope that they release a patch but it is not that big of a problem.
Fighting real live humans is so much better than killing the AI over and over again. I played people all over the US and Japan last night and my heart was pounding with Adrenaline. My almost weekly contest with BBQ has really helped condition me into a brutal combo master who knows how to handle Zangief. The people I played against were weaklings compared to BBQ the Zangief and Cammy master.
Oh yeah and I wanted to reveal my distaste for what I call Karate boys. These are the players that pick. Ryu, Akuma and Evil Ryu constantly. They do nothing but throw fireballs, dragon punches and super moves. I get so sick of them that I will exit out of a match once they select all Karate boys.
If you like old school fighting game play and you have Xbox Live this is such a no brainer. You must get this game. I like this game on Xbox Live so much that I plan on playing this daily until the day that I die. Online fighting games are not just a joy they are a RIGHT GIVEN TO YOU BY GOD!

Don't forget about Nakoruru and Mai Shiranui! Does someone count as a karate boy if they only pick Dan, Sakura, and Ryo?

Actually last night I encounter people who really knew how to play the big 25% more beef Russian and I was able to fight them off and I totally attribute it to fighting you. I have yet to see people who can play Mai and Nakururu. It seams that everyone on Xbox live is good at Capcom fighters and I can beat them by picking SNK people that they don't know a well.
The Rock laid the smack down with the People's elbow and the Rising Taku.
Dan, Sakura and Ryo do not count as Karate boys because of the play control is differnent enough. Sagat is a borderline case.

I just got my copy from Capcom today. Soon, I shall crush you with my endless flurry of dragon punches!
Never has the phrase, "What strength! But don't forget there are guys like you all over the world" rung more true.

On a similar note, I'd like to know what the best Street Fighter game for PS2 is. The last Street Fighter game I played was probably Street Fighter 2, so what's the BEST that's out right now? Huh? lemme know, please!

The Playstation2 Version of Capcom VS SNK2 is actually a really good port and a good game. It is even better if you have some friends who like to play games with you The PS2 version is lacking online network play but it is still a very good port of a very good game. Also the PSOne version of Street Fighter Alpha 3 is a surprisingly port of an kick ass game. I like the Dreamcast version the best and BBQ loves his Sega Saturn version but the PSOne version can be found for around $15 new and is a damn good game.

the game is well made.
the only think that keeps me playing it on Xbox is the fact that its online.
if the Ps2 was online i wouldnt even bother with the ugly green suitcase.
EO settings are moronic. i guess its for noobs or people with one hand.
Im a Karate kid. my favorite charater is Ryu. i usually pick Ryu, Shin Akuma and M.Bison.
Would you play me? i'll take your hairy little red panties DOWN.
= P good review.
