7-11 has embarked on an effort to try to improve their coffee and in doing so their hot chocolate is now super super tasty. They have installed these automated coffee machines with some new coffee and flavors. This is sort of an attempt to compete with Starbucks and other coffee places but they do not have to have better coffee than Starbucks just better than how bad their old coffee used to be.
They have probably been planning on re-doing their coffee selection at the advent of winter due to the colder weather impacting their Slurpiee sales.
The hot chocolate is sweet with a deep coco flavor but does not taste like instant crap. It is sweet but not like the pure sugar Starbucks sugar drinks. It uses real milk that really helps. The first time I tried it it slid off the roof of my new car and I had to go back the next night because I did get a chance to sip it.
Going to 7-11 continues to be a surreal cultural experience. You can see every day people with their guard down shopping for beef jerky and beer and a plethora of colorful people trying to buy booze several bucks short and trying to buy nachos with food stamps.
Kymberly noticed that the short haired female 7-11 clerk ( I thought she looked like Samwise of the Shire ) was totally checking her out and was very attentive to her shopping needs.
But at least the coffee is now better and the hot chocolate is damn good. Cheep too at about a buck a cup.
I've been drinking 7-11 coffee for a while. The new flavors are good. Currently our local on has gingerbread flavored coffee. Amazingly, it tastes good.
IMHO, Starbucks coffee is way over-roasted and bitter.
Only a dollar? How many ounces? 16 or 20?
I will try it soon. Sometimes I go there and buy a slim jim or beer. The problem is that the beer selection is mostly domestic crap. I know that the clientelle demands crappy cheap beer so it doesn't bother me one bit. I have a terrible, "dark secret" though....I LOVE THE HOTDOGS that rotate on those greasy, unsanitary hot rollers. I think the bacteria that accumulates there actually causes my immune system to be more resistant to rogue viruses through over-exposure. After all, I never get a Flu shot and I never get sick. It all goes back to those hot dogs and the other crap that I eat after it falls on the floor.
It had the 16 Oz. it is the same price as the old coffee.
I prefer to make my own coffee. I figure if I am going to drink coffee I will make sure it is fresh by making it myself.
There are no 7-11s in Soutern West Virgina/Southwest Virginia that I know of. It's a shame. The only 7-11 I've been in was in Monterrey Mexico.
Well they have a store locator on their website ( http://go.vicinity.com/7eleven/prxStart.dsp ). Strange they are all over Washington State. I even saw one in Japan.
