I am typing this in a painfully cool cyber cafe in the Capital Hill district of Seattle. It is loaded with cafes clubs and bars both straight and gay. Capital Hill is home to the hip inner city crowd and hundred of homeless street kids. This is the place that Sir Mix Alot went on about in his classic opus My Posse is on Broadway.
Now there are two trends that I have to mention. There is the availability of free WiFi internet access in bars and restaurants where you would not expect is. It is rather strange to whip out a notebook in a trendy bar and log on to check your email. I know it sounds weird but it is a great way to meet people. It is about as effective as carrying around a little puppy. Techno literate folk will venture over and see what your notebook is like.
The other is the availability of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer in can and bottle. It is not quite the high quality beer that one would expect in a fine trendy drinking establishment and I have only read about Generation X hipsters drinking on this cheep as chips pee water beer but God as my witness I have seen three bars offering this cheep low quality beer and trendy young hipsters sucking it down like it was imported from 1955.
We do live in strange times.

Beer sucks, jello-shots are god's gift to man :p
Nah I don't really like hard drinks and girl drinks. The only exception to this is a bloody mary. There are so many different types of beer that there is alot to enjoy and I rarely have more than one can a night.
I LOVE Beer. Mac and Jack's is like nectar of the gods. I would drink it as often as I drink Dr Pepper if I could function as a drunk and not incurr the liver damage and cost of being an alcoholic.
On that note, I wish there was some drink that contained the powers of coffee and whiskey. And no, coffee and whiskey don't mix well. Trust me.
For Trapp: Hot Irish Coffee: 1 1/2 Oz Irish whiskey, strong, hot coffee, brown sugar, whipped cream. Pour the whiskey into a warm glass coffee mug. Fill the mug with the coffee and add the brown sugar to taste. Stir to combine. Top off with the whipped cream.
The local internet cafe: Mugs, is a little more obvious about there wifi, they not only have signs everywhere, but they also have tablet pc's and desktops. My preferance is still clearly the chai tea
Well this one cafe had PCs and since I forgot to charge one of my laptop batteries I had to pay two bucks for a half an hour on a PC to write this post.
I've found that PBR has more actual TASTE to it than Coors or Miller or other cheap nasty beer. That is not to say that PBR can hold a candle to good beers, but it's certainly not a bad choice on a budget. Also, the only time I've had PBR in recent memory is from a keg, which may have different qualities than the canned/bottled varieties. I imagine most people seen drinking them in "hip" clubs and such are doing it to be ironic-chic or whatever, though, as I'm sure most can spare the extra $3 for a nice Newcastle or something. Or perhaps they broke the bank getting the WiFi addition on their iBooks.
I like to think of PBR as a Good "Bad" beer. It must be drunken ice cold and must not go flat. But for quality beer Redhook and Pyramid Ales rule Seattle.
