Online Bathroom Reading Material

News BoysYou know people are always asking me how come I know so much about Video Games. I explain that I am much cooler and smarter than they are and then I tell them about my favorite game information sites.

First off is EuroGamer.net. This is an above average European game news site that has good coverage and good insight.

Then there is Gamasutra. The mack daddy of game development magazines. This is the closest thing to an industry news paper that there is to the folks who make games.

Games Design Art Culture is a personal weblog that is actually closer to a Zine of a game publishing expert. I am just a hack but this guy is actually a pro.

I wouldn't want to live in a world without Game F.A.Q.s.com. This site is more chock full of information on games than the Library of Congress and the Library of Alexandria combined. Want to know a cheat code for Sonic 2 on Sega GameGear? This is the place to go.

Next up is Jane's great game zine Game Girl Advance. This is more on the intellectual side of gaming with really astute social value analysis.

I found out about GamesIndustry.biz a British site on publishing world and I haven't been reading it long but it looks good.

Same thing with GamerFeed for news.

GameSTATE is a new slick industry paper magazine and their website has good content that is need of an update but looks good.

GotGame? is another brain heavy collection of essays from an industry insider and they were cool enough to link to this site.

Famitsu is the big poppa of Japanese video game publications. It is in pure Japanese so you may want to use an online translation site if you are not down with the Nipponese.

PVP Online is not only the best web comic out there and a profitable dot com but Scott Kurtz has become quite the pundant and all the cool game companies invite him over to chill.

Penny Arcade is worth reading for the rants and blog style coverage of games. Oh and there is the other best web comic ever there too.

There after that list of quality links you will never have to log off the Internet ever again.

Perhaps these sites you have listed will be much more adept in gaming knowledge than the last few I have visited. (See my rant at m-t.com) I will have to check them out.

for real bathroom reading, do any of these have a print stylesheet?

One of my husbands favorite questions when inteviewing a job applicant is to ask them what mags (or books, I guess) are in their bathroom.

I do need to build a printer style sheet for this site and I'll take my CSS reference book to the laundromat this week and hammer one out.

You know if you had a Wifi network in your place you could surf the web on the crapper. I see a market for a whole new line of ISPs. Note to self go register SurfPoop.net and call some VCs.
