I guess there is some FUD surrounding Nintendo.
In the news is the fact that Acclaim is dropping future GameCube games.
This sounds bad but once you take a look at the fact that Acclaim's Gamecube line-up was BMX XXX and four year old ports of Dreamcast games it does not look like the GameCube community is loosing any good titles.
The Gamecube has the games that I really want in 2003:
Soul Calibur 2
F-Zero GX
Mario Kart
P.N. 03
Viewiful Joe
Metal Gear Solid : Twin Snakes
Final Fantasy : Crystal Chronicals
The Gamecube lost Acclaim but it still has Konami, Capcom, Nintendo, Squaresoft and Sega.
So the Nintendo GameCube might not get BMX XXX2 Woop De Doo!
Nintendo is getting most of their good games from Japan. The GameCube is doing OK there and the GameBoy Advance sales almost beat the Playstation2.
Shigeru Miyamoto was recently interviewed in Playboy Japan magazine and said that Mario 128 is progressing well and will feature creative and innovative gameplay. He said that was not shown at the last E3 because of fears that it would be creatively ripped off my competitors.
Also it looks like the console system from Nintendo is going as planned. Sure it can be tricky to trust Nintendo at times. Just ask any Virtual Boy owner and I am still waiting for my Super Nintendo CD-ROM drive.
Nintendo has been making video games for over twenty years and they are swimming with cash and creativity. I doubt that Sony and Microsoft can get them to call it quits any time soon.

It's a shame that the company that helped make the N64 great with the earlier, better Turok games is now turning its back on Nintendo. Oh, wait... no it isn't.
I say good riddance to Acclaim, and I hope they take their vile, piss-whore marketing executives with them. My only regret is that I won't get to see if in the BMX XXX sequel, the "sexy" female riders start looking and moving like something other than large bags of flour with floppy rag limbs.
I own a Virtual Boy, by the way. I think it's a great system, particularly because I am colorblind and normally see everything in four distinct shades of bright fucking red, and also enjoy having laser pointers shined right into my eyes for extended periods of time.
At least "Panic Bomber" was fun.
I'm afraid Acclaim lost all credibility with me after those horrible Simpsons games for the NES. I still do not forgive their level of crapitude.
Acclaim ruined every wrestling game for the 64... Then THQ and AKI got the WWF license and made the best wrestling game ever (No Mercy).
