New Pub at Microsoft is a sign there will be a Third Generation Xbox 720

It came out today that the Seattle pub/restaurant Spitfire is going to be expanding to the new office building at Microsoft's campus in Redmond. This building is going to house Microsoft's Entertainment and Devices division that runs the Zune, Xbox and Surface business.

This building is the main reason why I believe there is going to be a third Xbox platform (also known as Xbox project "Phoenix" or "720"). Steve Balmer, Bill Gates and the Microsoft board would not be building the Xbox team a new office building with a swank bar the ground floor if they had intended to leave the video game hardware business when the life cycle of the 360 ramps down.

This is not really just reading tea-leaves it is speculating and predicting on the future of a business looking at the hiring and spending movements of the company.

The Xbox team is getting their own staffed bar and restaurant in the future and I think they are going to stay in the business and build a third generation Xbox. That is my story and I am sticking to it. I can't wait to have a pint of ale there.

They still have not named the bar. I hope they pick Club 640k
