Nintendo announced more info on the GameCube Gameboy Player. It will come with a boot disk. No big surprise there. It can link to other GameCube GBA players and real a Gameboy. You can have it fill the whole screen or have a wide selection of borders to chose from just like the Super Gameboy nifty. There is no territorial lock out. But there never was on the Gameboy or GBA. so you CAN play Japanese games on it.
It will also have a parental control time limit... LAME.. But I wondered if it was a matter to time before game companies started to build parental lock out big brother functions into the hard ware. I think it is a matter of time before we start to see rating lockouts in game systems so mom can make sure that junior can only play E rated games and PG movies in the Playstation.
Still can't wait to get my hands on it. And I plan on buying alot more Gameboy once I get this.
Also they announced the American release date for Legend of Zelda The Wind Walker on GameCube. I am getting my ass over to GameStop after work and reserving that bad boy ASAP

I was wondering if you can save your games like Zelda on the new player. I know on the old Super Gameboy for SNES and GB Hunter for N64 you could't save.
Yeah it should offer the exact game play as a real GBA including saving to the cart but not ram freezes like some emulators offer. What are you talking about? I could save to the cartridge using the Super Gameboy for SNES. I played Metroid 2 for GameBoy that way.

You would need four copies of the game, four Gamecubes, four TVs and four Gameboy Players with GBA networking cables but it would work just like a Gameboy advance because technically it is a Gameboy Advance. Nintendo has not said any thing about a split screen or anything that you can't do on a normal GBA. You can set the screen size and some borders but nothing to different than the Super Gameboy for the Super Nintendo. There is a nifty page Nintendo of Japan's website.

Is it just me or is Street Fighter Alpha 3 with all it's new characters gonna OWN on this bad boy!? I can't wait to play as Juni on a 27 inch TV! :D
The extra fighters are nice but the fact that it is a Game boy advance game is the real cool thing about SF Alpha 3 GBA. Most of the extra fighters are on the Dreamcast and PSOne version. They would look better on a TV but it is slick that I can play SFA3 anywhere now.
Umm i was wondering if you could link the game cube gba player to a gba say if i had a copy of pokemon ruby and one of saph could i link them one on gba and one on game cube??
Yes Mr Mike you can do just that. BBQ and I have linked two copies of Puzzle Fighter Turbo using a GBA and a Gamecube with a GB Player

There are two modes. One has no scalling and the other scales it so it takes up all the screen horizontally. It is not that bad and the picture still looks pretty good.
