More Annoying Neighbors and Net Radio

Radio Still SucksI have a neighbor in my apartment complex who likes to pay their stereo set to pop radio shit loud all day long with the door open. I knocked on their door last night and I will go and yell as them to turn it down. They just started playing the crap at 9:30 AM. Now if I want to be outside or have my window open I have to listen to that shit.

At least it is not super hot right now. I will not roast inside if I close my windows to block their Clear Channel powered shit.

I also cracked a fat grin when I read that Clear Channel is being investigated by the feds.

Right now I am listenig to a Net Radio broudcast by BlueCalx.org. You can actually IM her and give her feedback. This is awesome and on my WiFi connection it is truly wireless interactive radio. I was wondering why they call Internet radio "radio" at all because they are now using radio waves. Ok well I am using radio for my WiFi but that is it.

My dad is into shortwave radio where he can some times pick up radio stations from all over the world but since Net radio travels over world wide fiber optic lines distance does not really matter. I just read an article from a short wave radio user who is upset that the FCC is going to take radio spectrum space from short wave and give it to Wifi. As a Wifi user is am stoked but I am not going to rub it in.

I wrote about how Wifi and net radio is going to reform the concept of radio and thanks to Blue Calx this is great example of the future.

We always tend to use older terms for newer concepts. Look at the word drive. You drive your car, but drive originally meant to whip your horses to "drive" the wagon. There are a few other examples of this kind of language evolution, a lot of people use the term "to tape" as a replacement to "to record", even if they're recording it to some other media format.
