Mmm. That is a Tasty Burger!

McDonalds is not happy about the 11th edition of Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary. They defined the term "McJob" as "a low-paying job that requires little skill and provides little opportunity for advancement." Sound like they hit the nail on the head to me. McDonalds is causing a minor stink about it and it looks like the Dictionary editors are going to keep the term in there.

They McNeed to get McOver their McSelves. In McSeattle there was a McChildRapist by the name of Ronald McDonald and the McPuppet McMediatool would call him R.McDonald or Ronald MiddleName McDonald on the McNews because they did not want to McOffenend their McCorporate McMasters

McJob: A low-pay, low-prestige, low-dignity, low-benefit, no-future job in the service sector. Frequently considered a satisfying career choice by people who have never held one.

The term McJob was popularized by one of my favorite authors Douglas Coupland in his book Generation-X.

The legal system in this country has gone out of hand, this one word will not hurt McDonalds in any way shape or form. People sue over just about anything. This is a good example but I feel obligated to post another one: the woman who sued McDonalds for making her fat. My theory for the solution is that we need a group of people to review these before they can go to court.

Well this is not about people suing McDonalds but about McDonalds suing people who criticize the company and their food. McDonalds sued a food critic in Italy for libel. Corporate juggernaut law can threaten and destroy free speech. ( http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm_785429.html?menu= )

Orwellian all the way. Control the language and you control the thoughts of the people.

My point is that it is the legal system in general. It has come to the point where if an arc welder does not say "caution do not touch to skin" then the ceo of the company will be accused of man slaughter. It has gotten to the point where I saw a shotgun in the local sporting goods store that had inscribed on the side "caution do not point at face, can cause bodily damage". In addition to this i bought a bb gun that had "caution: made in taiwan" on the label. what is next??? "caution: do not smash monitor over head, can cause bodily harm." Or maby even to the point of usage instructions on toothpicks.

We need a balance between rule by sue happy trial lawyers and massive corporations that use their money and legal power to take political power and rule using their power. We need a middle ground but I am disturbed with the trend of suing critics of corporations.
