There is a Soul Calibur 2 tornament tomorrow night at my local GameStop store. It is a small store in a not so populated part of the Puget Sound so I have a real shot at winning it.
Tonight I am going to practice by playing the Dreamcast with Mitsurugi at the hardest level for a couple hours. I think that since playing BBQ every week since 1999 I have had enough practice.
The grand prize is a copy of the game so if I don't win I am still going to buy it.

Which platform you getting it for Jake? I know you got rid of the Bling-bling BOX, but that is what I am leaning towards right now. Still not 100% decided though. The Dreamcast version is some underrated gaming goodness, to be sure!
Why the Gamecube my good sir. The Gamecube version is the native version since it was origionally for the Triforce Arcade Hardware developed by Nintendo, Sega and Namco.
That and Link kicks ass.
I have an PS2 to Gamecube adaptor thingie so I can use my PS2 controllers on my Gamecube.
BBQ and I saw a twenty somthing guy dressed as Link at the howard Dean rally yesterday.. I shit you not. I wish I had a picture.
Good luck on your quest.
I plan on getting the GC version as well, though I may have to wait a week or so. I wonder if they're having any tournaments around here (DFW area)?! Link does kick ass.
Dean does seem to attract all the crazies, doesn't he?! ;)
Oh yeah, and good luck tonight. Bring the pain...
Godspeed, may Mitsurugi and his double-slashy antics serve you well. I played the demo of SCII and it seems remarkably similiar to the Dreamcast one -- you should have no problem.
BBQ despises my Mitsurugi combo abilities but as long as there are no kids who were hooked on the arcade version of SC2 I have a shot. But it will be fun.
The guy dressed as link was walking away from the meeting so I think he was just a typical Seattle weirdo..there are a lot of them.
