Mini Review : Towa Tei – Sound Museum

Towa Tei Sound Museum
Usually I do not write about music. In fact I think i have only reviewed three albums on this website and they were video game soundtracks. I found Towa Tei's Sound Museum in a used CD store weeks ago and it is still in rotation in my head sets.

Towa Tei was the Japanese DJ in the 90s dance trio De Lite. You know Groove is in the Heart?

His solo works can be described as soul full funky dance and lounge music. It is both contemporary and nostalgic at the same time. The album has quite a range of emotions and he is not afraid to push the rules of the composition. It can blow your mind and get your toe tapping.

The songs that really stand out is German Bold Italic a funky song about a typeface and BMT a trio of Biz Markie, Mos Def and Towa Tei.

This is funky, fun but not sugar sweet like the average crap out there on commercial radio. If you come across this disc I highly recommend it.
