Microsoft : We Totally have no plans for a Blu-Ray drive, China : Oh Yeah you do!
Microsoft sent out a new round of emails denying any plans to make a Blu-Ray player for the Xbox 360. This is to counter the additional reports out of China that there was orders for Blu-Ray drive components ordered by Microsoft to be delivered later on this year.
They make a lot of money off accessories for the 360 and despite the HD-DVD player only having a 3% attach rate they made money off each one sold.
I still would be pretty shocked if Robbie Bach did not whip out an external Blu-Ray player for the 360 at E3 along side the “Newton” motion sensing controller.
