Now that Hillary Rosen is leaving the RIAA I will need a new poster child to kick around when I want to bitch about some new lame ass thing the RIAA is doing.
So the first person who popped into my mind is Metallica drummer and general all around dick Lars Ulrich. First of all he is but ugly and he was involved in kicking Dave Mustang of Megadeath out of Metallica back in the early days. Then there was the whole testifying before congress and bitching about hypothetical losses of sales and that he thought that Napster was the reason every Metallica album after Master of Puppets didn't sell instead of the real reason. They sucked ass. Also this is Lars when he had a Mullet and was cool instead of cutting his hair and hanging out with the RIAA's congressional lap dogs.

One time I was walking through the Seattle Center and I saw there was a Metallica concert about to go on. I was tempted to yell at the crowd that they were corporate rock lemmings but at closer inspection I saw that they were mostly young teenage boys and their parents.

I was only a metallica fan from about 92-98, but I dove in head first. I love their old stuff. I just coudln't get into it after Load and the like came out. It doesn't mean they suck, it means I just can't get into it.
What Lars did with napster and his RIAA butt-buddies is his own personal doings. I don't believe the rest of the band members feel the same way. But because Lars is the big mouth of the band, everyone thinks he speaks for the rest of the guys. I don't agree with him, but he feels the way he does for a reason. Maybe we're just jelous that we don't have that much money to hoard :)
Mustaine didn't belong in Metallica to begin with. Altho, he's a dick enough, so why he got kicked out is beyond me.
It might have been for the better. I have always been a bigger fan of Megadeth than Metallica. But during my mullet clad youth days I had all their albums on tape. I stopped listening to Metal around 1991 once Grunge swept over the State from Seattle before MTV discovered it and then proceeded to rape it.
But I still love old Metallica and perhaps I should download some of Kazaa. HAHAHAHa

I liked some of "Ride The Lightning", "Master...", "And Justice...", The "Black Album", and even a couple from "Kill 'Em All". I hated the one song I heard since (although the stupid eye makeup didn't help) .Is any of there stuff since the Black Album like some of the old stuff (ie. possibly worth listening to)
