iTunes for Windows likes the MP3s
I just wanted to say that Apple's iTunes for Windows does an absolute wonderfull job of ripping a CD to nice and versital MP3 files.

I ripped a Chemical Brothers CD today at 24X and could set it rip to MP3s and bitrate. Also they had the option of putting the track number first in the file name. That is so when you load it to another program or device the track order does not get screwed up. I will now be deleting MusicMatch from my harddrive and never installing it ever again.

Right on! I've always been a Mac user. So, I appreciate you plugging the Mac OS from the Other Side.

Well I was a Mac used from 1984 to 1998. I could have also pointed out that it is not the most stable program that I have used but it is very much a 1.0 program on the Windows side. It is still a very user friendly and fast MP3 ripper. I am going to the Dean Meetup in Kitsap Country but I will see you at the Weblogger meetup in Seattle.

For MP3 ripping, there is nothing like the open source CDex: http://cdexos.sourceforge.net/
I used it to rip my entire CD collection in a couple of weeks, it has loads of options for naming/organising, just like iTunes (which I love as well, but who can say no to 15 seconds per song ripping?)

It is actually faster at ripping Cd's on my P4 Win XP machine than my brand new 1.25 G4 powerbook, like 4 times faster.
