It's a wonderful day in the neighborhood.

Hey guess who's neighbor has a public Wifi hotspot with a high speed cable modem Internet connection? Me!

I am still going to keep my dial up account but it is nice to know that there is an unknown unofficial perk to living in this apartment complex.

I am not really hacking it. I just turned on my iBook and it found it. They are sending out the network ID so I say "I don't mind if I do"!

Also make sure to backup their Mp3s for them. I love to pull the old, "I'm connected to your printer" gag. That ones a laff at parties. All these people and their routers just KILL me!
H'mm WEP?! Naw!! No one owns a computer within a 100 yards of me! Lol

In the rare event that my cable isn't working, my neighbor's DSL connection, available to all via wireless (802.11g even!), comes in handy.

Oh I can't log into their PC and see their shared files just access their net account.

My house is probably the only house on my street has has WiFi...it's still in it's infancy in NZ where a handful of Internet cafes support it and it costs a fair bit to actually implement.

SIT were considering shifting to WiFi at one point, but the idea probably got shelved when they realised none of the students owned laptops.
