Impersonal Digital Assistant

After I got home from a trip over Christmas I found out that my Palm M130 will not HotSync to Window 2k. Now the AC adapter is cold to the touch and I am wondering it it is no good. My Palm was fine until the internal rechargeable battery ran out. I need to HotSync it charge it and back up my data. Does anyone have a Palm PDA of a similar line like the m105 and m125?

Is the AC adapter cold when it has been plugged in for a while? Can Radio Shack test my AC adapter to see if it is bad? I didn't change the software a bit but when I move the USB plug to a different open USB port windows fails to recognize a USB change.

Simply plug the AC adapter into the wall and stick your toungue on the plugin jack. If you are spinning around in circles at the same time you do it, it will be more effective but be careful not to get wrapped up in the chord. Every time I do this it shows without a doubt that the AC adapter is on the fritz.

My best advice is to check to see if the power adapter is dead, and if it is and it's only a circular 2-connector plug, you should be able to get a cheap replacement at RadioShack. I don't know if RadioShack can test to see if your power supply is bad, but you can test it with a cheap-o voltometer you can get from RadioShack. You may also need a pin or two to stick in the connector so you can hook up the voltometer's alligator clips. It should say on the power supply what voltage it puts out, just try differetn combinations of connectors on the plug if there are more than two connectors. I'm not sure what the power adapter is for, as I only have a 3Com PalmPilot Pro and the cradle is powered by the serial port and the PalmPilot is powered by 2 AAAs (which I used Ni-MH rechargables in, of course).
