I was checking a peers Animated Gif work and noted that I have Gif animation disabled and I suggest they put all the contact info on the first frame so the people who have these turned off will see what the banner is about.
So someone asked "Why would you put gif animation disabled?"

Plus there are big usability problems with having flashing content and the W3C warns against using them.
I just think that the Animated Gif has been so misused and abused that it is a file format that is beyond redemption and even the use of it automatically lowers the public perception of a site.
