I need to see Bubba Hotep!
One thing that is so damn wrong with this country is the fact that ever Will Smith and Vin Diesel piece of shit $300 Mil "blockbuster" will open on 3,300+ screen and it is damn near impossible to see a kick ass independant movie.
Bubba Hotep opened in Seattle on Friday and I was out of town all weekend. It is only playing at one theater in the UW District and the last show is on Thursday exactly one week. I really want to see this move and I have been hearing about it for months.
I am not sure if I can get to the theater in time for the 7:00 PM show because I have to take a ferry across the Puget Sound. So my only chance will be to go see the 9:30 pm show this week. Then get the 12:50 am ferry home and finally get to bed by 2:00 am.
That is the price that I have to pay to see this in the theaters instead of waiting for the DVD but I am tempted to do that this Thursday and drink a hell of a lot of coffee Friday morning. Hey BBQ want to go see it with me Thursday night?
I mean this movie looks like the greatest Bruce Campbell flick since Army of Darkness!

It's had good reviews so far, I'm interested in seeing it. Though I want to see Lost in Translation more.

Yes but there are six theaters playing Lost in Translation in Seattle. Only one playing Bubba Hotep and I have three days left to see it.

Feel lucky that you can see it at all. As it stands now, the closest place it's playing to me is NYC. I'd love to see this movie, but there's no way I'm driving 5+ hours to go see it.

I want to see this so stinking bad... I don't think it's going to come to my neck of the woods, so I'm eagerly awaiting the DVD. We never got A Mighty Wind out here either, which bummed me out.

Well thank god for DVD. DVD is the new theatrical release. They are bringing movies to DVD much quicker than VHS and we can expect a DVD version about two months or so after the flick leaves the theaters. Or in the cast of cool indy flicks the point that they leave the five theaters that they played in. I want to see the movie Nothing so Strange.

My schedule's a bit different this week and I will probably end up working this Thursday night, but I have been wanting to see that one. I could go Wednesday though. However I am sure that it could never be as good as A Man Apart. Dude that had Vin Diesel in it!!!
