I am So Getting a PSP Lite
Today I decided that I am going to be selling my current Playstation Portable and reserving one of the lighter redesigned PSPs that were announced at E3 earlier this week.

This weekend I am going to be trading it in with a bunch of used games that I don't play anymore at either my local GameStop or GameCrazy this weekend and reserve one of the new PSPs.
The battery life is supposed to be extremely improved and the loading times are faster due to added RAM to cache data off the UMD. That not cosmetic that is two of the biggest complaints that I have with PSP games.
They are not going to put another analog stick on this generation of hardware because then game developers would have to specifically target their games to the newer PSP. The rumors were that this re-design was going to have built in memory or a hard drive.
While it not as major as the Gameboy Advance VS. the GBA SP it is some improvements over the existing design.
My reasons for doing this are as follows
1. I like the PSP but I really have not playing it in a long time. I think that having a break from it will make the PSP platform seem new to me when the new hardware comes out in September.
2. The Video Out is a big deal for me. I would love to play PSP games on my TV and I would finally be able to review PSP games for my video podcast. I've said that I thought that the PSP was the legitimate heir to the PS2 instead of the PS3. That make the PSP a lot more of an attractive platform to me. Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles would rock on my widescreen HDTV.
3. Thinner design.
4. Same big screen
5. Better Battery life
6. Faster Disk Loading - Thank God! There are some PSP games that were almost unplayable due to long loading.
7. Better Directional Pad - That is almost worth buying a new one just for that.
8. $199 price - After I trade in my existing PSP with some used games I'm going to get a gift card to use toward the new one. The overall upgrade cost is not that bad to trade up to the new one as long as I trade it in before everyone else starts to trade in their PSPs.
I know that technically they are not called the PSP Lite but that is what I am going to call it from now on.
