Hi, I am Jake and I am a Techno Addict.

Palm M130I descided not to get a PDA again for a number of reasons.

  1. I can just use my notebook and backpack with an extra battery when I want to go mobile and check my email at a WiFi hotspot.
  2. The Wifi implementation in PDAs is still bleeding edge and is not really implemeneted well yet. I will wait for the day that it is strange to have a PDA that is NOT Wifi enabled.
  3. I have my Minidisc player to deliver lots of music so I don't need a PDAs with a built in MP3 player.
  4. I can use Mozilla calander to do all the PDA informational manager functions.
  5. I allrady have a digital camera and I do not want a cell phone.
  6. Not mention I have already owned two PDAs and it did not change my freaking life.
  7. I still have a Gameboy Advance SP and NeoGeo Pocket that can crank out good portable gaming and buying a PDA now would be foolish when next spring there is going to be more information about the Playstation Portable
  8. Besides I need to visit the dentist and that can get costly.
  9. I need toget my tires checked on my car.
  10. I need to keep putting money in savings
  11. They don't want us to bring unauthorized digital devices to where I work.
  12. I could use with some new furnature and decor in my apartment. Nothing a trip to Ikea could not fix

I just needed to get that out so I am not tempted to go blow several hundred bucks on an ungodly powerfull new PDA next payday.

TAA: techno addicts anonymous. My theory has always been if there is something that is 5x better than what you have and it is afordable then it is ok to buy it otherwise I try to supress my addiction. But as most people around me will bear witness to I do not always follow that rule. (although most of the time I just bend it.)

The most rescent example of this is that I am looking at a laptop, I figured it was 5x or more smaller than my desktop so it was ok. ("teh Calories do not count if you eat it off someone elses plate")
