Hell Hath no Fury Like Eurotrash Scorned
Jesus Christ! This pissed off Frog hack has been entertaining. First of all I game him a honest review of his 20 bucks a logo business and site. So he mailed me saying he was going to review my site but he had a hard time figuring out how the review system worked. So here is his review and I posted my little cartoon of him. Thanks Penny Arcade for the source material.
First of all here is his review of my site after I called him a 2 bit hack.
Usability: 1 - Very same same same..like a lot of the new sites coming along these days with the dots instead of lines...you know what I mean. Far too many links to make sense of it. Home page is far too long also. Should really think about splitting the home page up into more manageable chunks. It"s really hard to see any direction in this site.
Navigation: 3 - The navigation is a bit erratic. Sometimes there is navigation at the bottom of the page and sometimes there is not. Leaves it all kind of half finished. Not really what you would expect from a semi pro. The buttons should really do something..like glow...or change color..or something anyway....doing nothing is like not having buttons at all.
Graphics: 5 - A lot of the personal graphics look like a high school exam. The 3d stuff can be knocked out in any CAD application but could look more realistic with a skilled practioner.
Content/Originality: 3 - A hell of a lot of personal feelings and rants and raves...but not what one would call content. Apart from the links to real websites Yahoo...etc.
Compatibility: 1 - Ran the site through the W3 validity check...and loads and loads of errors came up. Not worth mentioning...run it through yourself...you will see.
Load time: 6 - Not bad at all.
Comments: For a professional designer it is about average. Not going to blow anybody away and not really a portal for work. Just checked the site again and I have noticed that the so called designer is actually a racist...not only a racist...but a very intellegent one...I am not French...or Belgium...though I am sure the French and Belgiums will love his racist comments. I did not realise that this site was a window to race hate. I will be reporting this to the site owners. Oh..and I will be reporting it to his ISP and Web host...I am sure racial hatred figures somewhere in the TOS.

well I won't get in the middle of this little love fest, but I will say that his logo and website are pretty awful.
Branding is pretty big deal and not the kinda thing you spend $20 dollars on. Even non-profits (legit) spend a lot of money on branding and marketing their services correctly.

Most professional designers like myself will give a non profit a low-rate. Hell I will work for free if it for a group I like. This guy is a bit of a hack because he is selling his templates to be the same quality as a professional design firm. There is a similar discussion on a similar “business” on a graphic designer blog I read. I quoted this in my review of his site. Typographi.ca
