Happy Birthday to Me. All I want is to send Darcy Burner to Congress.
Today is my 29th birthday and one thing that I really really want for my birthday is for people to help send Darcy Burner to the US House of Representatives.

I have met Darcy last year and she has really impressed me as a great candidate and an incredibly well throughout smart individual and is exactly the kind of person we need back in Washington DC. She is running in Washington 8th Congressional district that is east of Seattle but west of the Cascade mountains. I live in the 1st CD but I supported her in the primary last year and have given her campaign a donation.
It is a crying shame that I can't vote for her but Kitsap County's two congressman Norm Dicks and Jay Inslee are stumping for her because when she is elected it will help them regain the majority. But there are a whole bunch of reasons why I think it is a great idea to help elect Darcy.
1. She will be the first Generation X congressperson from the state of Washington.
2. She was a Microsoft project manager who had a MSDN blog and she can code C#.
3. Darcy supports net neutrality and opposes mass media consolidation trends. She has an incredible grasp on the tech and privacy issues that I care about. Heck Microsoft itself is in her district.
4. She supports a new direction in Iraq and I think it is our best chance for peace.
5. She is going to be the first member of the Democratic Party to win the district since it was created in 1982.
6. We Americans desperately need accountability back in congress and to have congress live up to it's constitutional obligation to act as oversight to the ever increasing in power of the executive branch. Forget impeachment I want to give Congressman John Conyers subpoena power to investigate fraud and corruption in a dozen issues. Never in the history of the American Republic has the need for accountability and congressional oversight been greater than right now.
7. Her election is going to be a part of a nationwide trend that is going to result in the election of the first female House Majority Leader / Speaker of the House. That is a first for the American republic.
8. I want to be able to watch C-Span without the overwhelming urge to put salt in my eyes. These jokers in power have been running congress since 1994 and we need change. I think the American people deserve better and we are going to get it from a new generation of congressional leaders like Darcy. I also met her opponent in the halls of congress back when I was in DC and think he deserves retirement.
9. Darcy is a major supporter of the New Apollo energy project and believes that we need to make the necessary investments to move the American economy off it's addiction to petroleum.
10. This is one of the hottest congressional races this year and it can go either way. The mail-in ballots are mailed off tomorrow and NOW IS THE FREAKING TIME TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!
So if you are a US citizen please consider giving her campaign $20 or more if you can. Darcy Burner supports my values, issues and is exactly the kind of smart new leader that we need back in Washington DC.
Plus I think she actually has an Xbox.

Both of you should be arrested for spreading such terrorist propaganda. And put in one of those torture camps. Did I say torture camps? I meant happy camps.
Oh and happy birthday! You anti-torture, anti-American swine you!

I live for election night. It should be a holiday. It's like Christmas for me. For this Election Day I hope to find Cantwell and Burner going down in flames in my Election Day stocking! For it is right and good. I'm more than willing to write off the 7th for getting these. Bagdad-jim is inconsequential anyway.

Oh it is going to be like Christmas 1974 this year. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_House_election%2C_1974
Kitsap county went all mail-in ballots last year and so I already voted last week.
It is going to be a tough race for Burner for the final stretch but there is an awesome GOTV ground works campaign underway and the folks that actually vote on election day will get to see the nationwide tidal wave hit before the polls close. That is a good thing because people tend to vote for the party that they think is going to win. If not she can run again in 2008 since Dave Reichart is not going to be getting any legislation passed with Speaker Pelosi.
Well the current polls have Senator Cantwell with a comfortable 15-point lead and the National Republican Senate Campaign is pulling the money that they were going to spend on McGavick on races where they might have a chance.
You mean Jim “85% of voters in his district voted for him” McDermott. The “Was Right about Iraq back in 2003” Jim? This guy?
