Happy Birthday NCSA Mosaic
NCSA Mosaic was the first web browser that I ever used almost ten years ago and it really changed my life. I was in high school in Richland WA and the ability to get data and connect to remote places all over the world was Gibsonian and an epiphany.

NCSA Mosaic was first released ten years ago today, marking the first milestone in the evolution of the graphical World Wide Web. HTTP was originally developed between 1989-1991, but didn't take off until there was a useful browser which could display inline images.
Oh There is a really good Guide to Starting a Blog posted on NSLog that I need to go read.

I first saw and used Mosaic on a PC that was out in the hall in the MS building I was working at, in the summer of 1993 -- it was the only one in that building that was connected to the net! And was used by our test lead for research purposes. Remember installing your own TCP-IP stack?

I do remember the all important Winsock.dll. Most of my first net experience was over at my dad's lab at WSU tricities on a Win3.1 system and a Unix workstation. This was back when all my friends thought AOL 1.0 at 2800 was cool.

I REMEMBER A MOSAIC GAME THAT WE PLAYED ON THE AMIGA AND I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO FIND IT WHERE WE CAN PLAY IT ON OUR PC. THE ONE WE HAD WAS JUST RED SQUARES WITH BLACK NUMBERS AND YOU HAD TO TRY TO GET NUMBERS IN ORDER IF YOU COULD, THEY JUST SHUFFLED BACK AND FORTH. IF ANYONE COULD HELP ME FIND OUT IF THERE IS ONE FOR A PC,PLEASE,PLEASE,PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I DO NOT LIKE THE NEW MOSAIC WITH THE DIFFERENT COLOR BLOCKS, IT'S JUST NOT THE SAME. THANK YOU
