Happy Bastille Day
You know how Cinco De Mayo has become and unofficial holiday celebrated in the US? Well today is Bastille Day when the French celebrate the founding of the French republic.
So how come Wal-Mart is not carrying t-shirts with the Eiffel tower on it?
I am going to celebrate by getting some of the Laughing Cow Cheese and having a bottle of Fat Tire Belgian style beer.
My grandfather was helped kick the Nazis out of France back in 1945 but then if it were not for the French we would all be singing "God Save the Queen" in the Royal British Colonies of America.
My heritage makes me part French, German, English, Scottish and Irish. So my ancestors were almost always at war with each other.
I actually don't have much of a problem with the French it is the Belgians that tick me off.
Let's not forget Hiroshima day.

that "Are you European?" link was hilarious...i'm a mutt, myself...but i think i've already recounted my heritage somewhere in your comments...suffice it to say that yes, i have European blood in me...no French that i know of, though
