Grand Theft Bicycle: Emerald City

GTA 3 alternate coverGod damn it! Some crack smoking throw back sack of human dung junkie stole my bicycle Sunday!

I rode my bike to visit Bbq in Seattle like I do almost weekly and I chained it to the tree in front of his Belltown apartment like I always do. We went out and picked him a computer desk and I last saw it at 2:30 PM. (By the way thanks for the spare PC Beth, Bbq will get a lot of use out of it.) Then we were tired so we went and played some games for several hours and at seven we left his place to walk over to a local deli to get a bite to eat.

I was shocked when I noticed that my bike was gone and there was another bike next to the tree that I had it chained to.

It ends up the drug dealers in downtown Seattle have a lot of walking to do and a bike really helps them out. Now it is easier to just get a bolt cutters and steal a bike than actually buy one. So this local drug dealer had a flat tire so he saw it to steal my bike and leave his older stolen bike with a flat tire. The chain and helmet were there but the chain was cleanly cut in broad daylight in front of a busy apartment building in Seattle.

Bbq thought it wold be fun to play some Vice City. and it was.

So I told my sob story to the cops and it was a long walk home from the ferry docks. I knew that at least I was OK and it was not like I was mugged at gunpoint but it is a real pisser and I am now shopping for a new bike.

if a chain didnt work what will you do next time? is there any new technology like electified lightning bolts or something you could use so that it doesnt just happen again? sheesh.

Next time I plan on just bringing it in to BBQs apartment, Belltown is a weird mix of yuppies and crackheads and BBQ is in the middle. The thing is that bolt cutters can get through any metal lock and chain. I guess I just have to be careful about where I chain it. It was broad daylight right in front of the building.

That sucks!

If I find the guy who did it I'll shove the bike up his ass sideways. And steal all his crack.

maybe you should go buy some bolt cutters and steal a bike yourself. or take one of the bikes from the kids in your apartment complex, you would look so cute on a little pink bike with training wheels and streamers on the handle bars and maybe even a banana seat... yeeeaaaahhh.. a banana seat...

HOLY CRAP ANNA! dont speak of the bananna seat in mixed company!

Oh man. The irony...maybe they saw that it was a former police bike and wanted to stick it to "the man". Sucks, though.
Glad to be of assistance, btw. :)

My bike got stolen last month, they left my steel cable there too,..maybe our cases are connected.
The junk that stole your bike in april must've wanted a new one cuz it was broke or something. Most bikes don't manage to stay in one piece if they were driven from seattle to amsterdam.
so when he was doene with yours, he prolly stole mine.

I left it well locked at the station when I went to school. since I study in an other town and I cant take my bike in the train with me it was there for like 13 hours on its own if things would have gone asplanned. but my bike left with out me :'(

I now bought the most crappy bicycle I could find and painted it the most horrific shade of red you've ever seen

This almost makes me feel bad for nicking bikes when I was young. Nicking someone else's bike would just start an endless chain, pun intended :P

I loved that bike. It was awesome.

I had my bike stolen (in Seattle yesterday. It was locked up but that didn't deter the creepy theif! I guess I shoulda known better in the crack-addled Rainier Vally but fuck, it had been just fine for 3 years! I hope the ass who stole it gets hit by a bus or something. Creep. I can't afford a car and I go to school from 8 to 5 and then work from 6 to 10 and work all weekend just to (barely) HA! make ends meet and I can't just boogie to WalMart and buy another. I'm screwed. And the SPD were no Goddamn help either.
