Gonna Rock a Custom 8bitjoystick.com T-shirt and Hoodie at PAX
I decided that rather than going to PAX dressed as a zombie and getting my Dead Rising T-shirt all covered with fake blood I should wear a shirt that pimped my good old website 8bitjoystick.com.
So I went to my local craft supply store and I got two packs of iron-on heat transfer letters, a pack of heat transfer ink-jet paper and a new long sleeve T-shirt and a hoodie. I then used Gimp to scale my joystick logo that I designed back in Photoshop and Flash back in the day and printed out some appropriately sized logos. Gimp on Mac OSX can't print directly so I had to save them as TIFFs and print them out from Preview.app.
I then had to fight off my cats after I set up my ironing board and apply the lettering and graphics without burning myself or my very dangerously curious cats.
I am really happy how the graphics turned out and I am about 60% happy with my alignment on the letters. It reads correctly but my old design teachers would cringe at the off kilter and badly spaced layout. It was the first time that I ever used those kind of peel off lettering and it sort of worked.
My girlfriend is wondering if I am going to be too hot with both the T-shirt and hoodie but the convention is going to be held in a very well air-conditioned location and I can just take it off and tock the T-shirt. I deliberately planned to have the joystick logo show when I have the hoodie on and un-zipped.
I am sorry about the poor quality of these pictures. My good camera is in the shop getting fixed and the old camera can't take a decent picture of a grey-T-shirt under the available lighting to save my life. The t-shirt came out a lot better than the photos.
I still have some other t-shirts that I want to make and I have to apply lettering and a joystick logo to the back of the hoodie but if all goes as planned I will be decked out with my one of a kind gear pimping my dear website.

I'm thinking about going to PAX and selling travel size deoderant. I would make a fortune.

Make sure to sell bootleg asian energy drinks during the game tournaments. That would be more profitable than crack.
