Fried Spam
I went ahead and installed JayAllen.org's MT-Blacklist plug-in and hopefully that will cut the amount of comment spam down. It is still possible to manually create a new spam but this system targets the bastards who have been using custom Perl or PHP scripts to create comment blaster auto spammer tools.
The good news is that Six Apart is actively working on new tools to combat the growing tide of comment spam. I think that MT Pro will do the trick and I am encouraged that multiple people are coming up with the same conclusions as to how to solve the problem.
I doubt that comment spam will be an issue in 2004.
