Font size and Wrapping Gifts

With the help from some one on a web design mailing list that I am on I am messing around with a CSS layout that uses EM relationships rather than declaring pixel heights. So the whole reason to try to use a relational font size is if you are looking at this site on a high resolution monitor the fonts will be larger than it would if you viewed it on a 640X480 small monitor. If it annoys the hell out of you let me know and if you like it groovy.

In addition to my normal Webalizer tracking on this site I added an eXTReMe Tracking doohickey. That is how you really capitalize it. I had to do some serious XHTML hacking to make the code that I had to add not screw up my XHTML validation.

I took all the Christmas gifts that I am going to give this year to Barns and Noble to have them wrapped by the volunteer groups there. I donated a twenty for their help and the store donates the space and materials and lets them wrap gifts in exchange for donations. Despite attending art school I suck at wrapping presents so this was quite an opportunity for me. I also suck at cutting Matte Board with a blade and a straight edge.

Can't wait to give BBQ his Christmas presents when I see him tomorrow. He is getting some games and a royal ass whooping at all fighting games on hand.

Update:I was not really happy with the results and Pete was right that it was too damn big. I tried tweaking it and it looked way different in IE than Mozilla so I switched back to the old CSS sheet and I might try again later on in life on a future redesign. But to put it plainly I liked the fact that it worked before I started messing with it.

I like the fact that it is pretty damn simple...I am thinking of doing the whole site like this instead of Flash and trying to integrate everything with a PHP form so that I can daily post pics instead of using Moveable type and running a server...with PHP I can build a form, upload gfx and format without using any software once I build the form. Wouldnt that be groovy?

By the way...this is not done yet so dont look for alt tags on everything yet okey dokey? Maybe if I can get the form going in the next month it will be a cool non-movable-type weblog...(sort of)
I was just thinkin that something different might teach me something or other....

Settle down Beavis. Don't make me smack you. It is a work in progress. Now the text on the site should be scalable in Internet Destroyer.

It was kind of funny because it looked like my grandmas computer...HEH she has the frigging font that are huge....running that byatch in 800x600!!!!HA!!!!

The more i look at the holiday theme the more i like it. it kicks arse. It has me thinking....maybe you should add some color to your graphics later down the road....the cool thing is that you are using CSS and I know how you like to tweek on the page so i can always expect a surprise.

well, i never got to see the "big font" but i'm sure it couldn't have been that bad...i like the whole holiday theme...:)

That Tracking doohickey is cool!
