Fear of a Zine Planet!
I tend not to link to and write about stuff on the Blogdex or Daypop unless It directly affects me and I have something to say. I am actually trying structure my site more like a Zine than a blog. I would like to see more reviews and articles than fluff about me and my life.
So lets look up what a Zine is at Dictionary.com

An inexpensively produced, self-published, underground publication.
I guess I am more inspired to create an of kilter magazine like creation than a 100% autobiographic narcissistic masturbatory weblog. Not to say that those are bad and all weblogs are autobiographic narcissistic masturbatory or to say that it is a bad thing.
I guess it all started in high school when it was trendy to make an underground publication and distribute it in secret. If I recall the powers that be at the high school would find this a capital offense and they would make great strides to attempt to crush such a publication. It was if they saw it as threatening. Yup American high school where you learn about civil right but you don't actually have any.
I do remember Mr. Evil Ninja getting temporarily suspended for pissing off The Man with his mad underground publishing skillz.
One of the biggest inspirations that I would like to see this site evolve into is Too Much Coffee Man Magazine. It is the perfect form of entertainment and I suggest it to you all. Some time I am going to grow some balls and get over my fear of rejection and submit some articles to it.
I just think it would be spiffy if I concentrated on the things that make this site different than a traditional weblog and structure it more like a Zine. I would still have some online journal type stuff but it would be a minority over articles and reviews. Except rather than printing out a barely legible black and white publication and photo copying dead tree editions I am going to be regularly updating an ever evolving online publication. That is so damn dot com of me.
I am just trying to make Marshal McLuhan proud.

The medium is the massage if you run a zine i guess. I think that this has always been a zine jake. The way you write makes it seem like a zine anyway....articles an whatnot.
